Well, we did it...no, not that...not yet. Yes, we wanna buy DVC, but we can't pull the trigger...not until I know I can love BWV just as much as I loved BCV.
I've booked a flight, and had a friend rent me some points for a night at BWV! It was meant to be, because at first there was nothing available, but the waitlist came thru in hours. :D I've now gotta book a room at the All Stars for my first night.
So, I've got 1 1/2 days at BWV, no park tickets, and a decision to be made. What should I do/see/experience at BWV to soak it all in?

Check out the community hall! It is so neat-there is also a very quiet pool attached to it. They have video's you can borrow and some great activities for kids during the day.
Oh, the chocolate chip cookies at the bakery are pretty good too, although I am trying to forget about them, lol.

Well, one of my very favorite things to do at BW is to "people watch", especially at night. If you have a balcony facing the boadwalk, that's great, but it's also fascinating to just sit on a bench and watch what is going on. Don't miss the marvelous pastries at Boardwalk Bakery and the ice cream and candy at the ice cream shop. You can always take a boat or walk over to Beaches and Cream for some yummy food. Watch the fireworks at Epcot at night. Use the health club if you are so inclined. Have dinner at Spoodles or one of the other restaurants -- Flying Fish, if you can afford it. Ride one of the boats to MGM and don't get off -- just ride back and enjoy the scenery. Explore the Swan and Dolphin. I love BW and can't wait until we get there in October. There is so much going on without even going to the parks.

Check out the old time radio shows and board games at the Belle View Room. Sit in the rockers on the porch and watch the boats come and go. Go into the Wyland Gallery and ask if they have any paintings of clowns. Slip into a convention at the convention center - remember oenology = good convention, proctology = bad convention.

Sounds like somebody gets a little feisty at the Boardwalk Villas.
Thanks for the tips guys! I'm so looking forward to trying all these things...well, almost all these things. Y'all are already making me love it.

Hmmmm... You've gotten lots of good ideas already! How about...
Bring a camera and take TONS of pictures to show the family when you return
Spend several hours at the pool, and ride the slide to try it out!
Find the room that is farthest from the elevators, and make the walk back and forth three times. Is it REALLY as far as everyone says? (Walking at WDW is a given for me, so I think I just want to get another opinion!)
Walk out to the busstop at the times you typically leave for the parks and see how busy the buses are.
Explore the resort to find the side exits and shortcuts
Walk all the way around the lake and look back at BW. Does it look like 'home'? Are you excited to head back there?
Check out the different views. Look out the front (Standard view), over the pool areas, and over the boardwalk. You'll have a good feel for future requests. Heck - map out all the room numbers and the corresponding view. Post it and DVCers will be forever in your debt!
stop by the DVC office and tell them what you are doing. Maybe you will get another meal coupon! :-) At least you can get some Lemonade and a cookie!

Dang, Tagrel, that is good...very, very good! I'm printing it out right now. :D Of course I need to do all the same things over at BCV to find what's right for us. All except swimming at the pool. Thanks again!

Just wanted to reiterate what Tagrel said about locating side exits and shortcuts. It always amazes me when people walk from an end room to the elevators and then all the way back the outside of the building to go to, for example, the MGM walkway, when they could walk down the stairs and be right there. Of course their was the time I took a wrong turn, went thru a door that was supposed to be locked (it did lock behind me) and found myself wandering around the DVC preview area after hours. Luckily I found someone working late to let me out - scared the crap out of her, however, when I popped up in her office door.
