Mission Space?

Has there been any update or press releases or anything on Mission Space? I'm so hoping that it will be opened this year!

Last I heard "sometime this summer." Now that's pretty vague, huh? Perhaps someone here has more definitive info. I'm really keen to hear the first Taginator reports on this baby! :D

Last I heard (a post from a cast member) they are in the process of transferring staff to the new ride. Then they will need training, etc. Sounds like maybe two months??

I was at WDW in early March. The building looks just about done, so I surely anticipate it will open sometime this year. However, it certainly did not yet look ready for a "soft opening."

I was told by the folks I met with at Disney that late 2003 is the "official" word right now. There are several plans in the works to create several new activities (read: Mickey's Philharmonics in the Magic Kingdom and possibly a new parade in the World Showcase) to open with it. I have a "feeling" a new celebration is being birthed :wink:

My DD said they have a bulletin up about a casting call for it, but she hasn't heard about when it will be open.

So far she hasn't seen anything about CM previews, but she is keeping her eyes open for it. Hopefully something will happen before she leaves, although I'm not sure she'll be brave enough to try it without me.

I've heard that they have actually had a few guests on as riders. They supposedly had just one pod open and ready to run. The rest is still being finished.

There seems to be no hard answer to the 'when will it open' question.

What I wouldn't give to be a guest who gets asked to ride! It seems to be purely chance when it happens, and not on a regular basis.
