Sunday June 1st
Today we decide to head back to Epcot for the morning hours & then will just take the Monorail to The Contemporary for our mini meet. Of course Matt wants to ride Test Track & he also wants to check out one of the cars in the Test Track showroom. It is a nifty little red Saturn Ion & I will have to say this is one cool car. Now Matt is trying to figure out if his Mom will get it for him for his 16th Birthday. Yes dream on son. We also tried to get some pictures of the outside of Mission: SPACE & was hoping to get some close up ones too. I am not sure if I will ever dare to get on this ride but am looking forward to when it opens.
Breakfast this morning was at Electric Umbrella ($12.75) & then it was time for shopping & taking pictures of the wonderful topiaries. Matt decided he would rather head back to World Showcase & maybe look at more swords. I enjoyed leisurely walking around snapping pictures & even seeing the Butterfly release near MouseGears. It was neat to see the children with the butterflies in such a natural setting. I also ventured into one of the Flower & Garden Show shops that housed various works of art. There were so many beautiful creations in this area but what really caught my eye were prints by an artist named Larry Dotson. They were gorgeous & came in various sizes already matted. There were prints of each of the Epcot Country Pavilions, prints of the Animal Kingdom Lodge & the one that I fell in love with – a beautiful, colorful print of Spaceship Earth. The print was from the backside of Epcot with the monorail running through & the reflection of Spaceship Earth in the water with even a Hidden Mickey in the flowers. I loved it so much that not only did I buy one for myself I bought one for Ellen’s mother. Her 77th Birthday was on Tuesday June 3rd the day we were leaving Disney. :present:
Time was getting away so after a quick trip through Ice Station Cool Matt & I head to catch the Monorail to The Contemporary. Our mini meet was at 1p & I wanted to get there a bit early to scope out a place for us to be able to sit. The Food Court area was very crowded when I arrived but I managed to find a nice area at the entrance to the Food Court that was almost like having a private room. Attendees were: :circle: AliciaG, hubby John, & children Eric, Kristen & Anna Kate, Celebration Mom & son, Esmerelda (Susan) & Elayna, PammyK, Ursulinda (LindaB), Rosebud & CM Valerie, Ellen (EJ4Disney) & her mom Delores, Rosie, Bobller, Cruey her husband Mike & son Michael & Matt & I. Sorry that LindaR, Brer & Katie were unable to make it :( . Alicia was a doll I so much enjoyed meeting & talking with her & her children are adorable. I did not get to speak much to Celebration Mom as she was busy taking pictures & taking care of her handsome son but what a lovely lady. Susan was just as sweet as I thought she would be & her daughter Elayna was as cute as she could be. PammyK & LindaB you know I love seeing you guys again. Rosebud & Valerie were at the other end of the table so I did not get to talk much but certainly did enjoy meeting them. Rosebud you did a great job with Valerie (even from my end of the table I could tell she was a lovely young lady). Bobller it was nice to meet you after all of these years. Ellen, Rosie & Cruey what can I say about my bestest friends :theWave: . I love you guys. Delores (Ellen’s Mom) you are the best, my Matt gave you the biggest compliment & said that you reminded him of my Mom. Mike & Michael I don’t know how you guys put up with us at these gab fests but you do & I even think Mike (Cru’s husband enjoys them). Ellen’s husband & son Matthew were off playing golf – sorry we missed seeing you again. For those of you who have never attended a mini meet just do it, they are great fun & you never know you may meet your best friend.
Finally it is time to go & Matt & I head over to the Magic Kingdom to catch a bus back to AKL & to grab a late lunch at The Mara ($16.05) & get some laundry done. The laundry at the AKL is very nice with nice big chairs & a TV. It was also nice to be able to pack most of our clothes back in the suitcase & not have to worry about tons of wash when we got home. MGM is on our list tonight for another round of WWTBAM-Play It. Again no Hot Seat but Matt & I both make it to the top 10. Tonight was the noisiest game I have ever been at. There were lots of recent High School graduates in the audience & boy were they rooting on one of their classmates. Billy, a classmate, did a great job & this kid is going to Notre Dame in the fall. Way to go Billy. One of the questions he needed help on was: What was the name of the Youngest Daughter on The Brady Bunch. Now needless to say my Matt groaned over that question but believe me he knew the answer since his Mom is a Brady Bunch fan.
Back to the room by 930pm & Matt is full of energy & wants to do something else. Hmm remember we still have tickets to Mini Golf – 8 to be exact as we got 2 more upon check in at AKL? We knew we could not get Ellen & her family over here fast enough but thought we could work it out with Cruey. Her family was staying right around the corner from us & are late people like us. Matt called Mike on the cell phone & yes they can meet us  ! We head over to Winterland/Summerland & wait for the others to arrive. What fun this was. We played the Summerland side & I guess I can admit none of us will break the record set here. Matt said one side was 25 & the other side 26. Believe me when I say we did not even come close but it was fun just the same. We finished playing sometime after 11p & Matt & I discovered we were hungry since lunch was at 330p. Now where to grab something quick since our Food Court closes at 11pm? All Stars to the rescue, Cruey & Mike told us All Stars Food Courts were open until 12am. Matt got a turkey sub & a Chocolate Shake – yes I know we have shakes at strange times of the day. Cruey & family got ice cream & then it was time to say good night. Once more a late night into bed for us .
Tomorrow – our last full day. Magic Kingdom, MGM & Epcot
