Ramen
Yes it is time to travel from whence we came – back to the land of Ramen – Cajun Shrimp Flavor maybe – one could only hope.
The wake up call at 6:00 a.m. brought turns with the shower – while the other ones packed last minute items. I went down to the front desk to check us out – and Tramp and Scamp met up with me in the atrium for breakfast – please whatever you do, DO NOT eat beignets anywhere other than Café de Monde or your grandmom’s kitchen!!! We made the mistake of having a plate of fried lead lumps at the hotel breakfast – ICKKK – we took one bite and threw them out – I’m sure the birds wouldn’t even want them! The cajun omelet was very good though – and the juice, as always, was delicious – every morning for a week Tramp and I would ask the staff behind the buffet line to bring us Styrofoam cups of ice and each morning they did – but they never caught on that the ice people were approaching lol The juice is cold but it could be colder and the Styrofoam cups are larger than the little juice glasses lol.
We brought our luggage down to the front and Tramp took a photo of me sitting by the courtyard fountain wearing my Mardi Gras Feathered Mask – we drew a crowd – they thought I was someone important behind the mask – about ten minutes later – a couple of people walked up to me and asked if I were the one behind the mask being photographed earlier – I replied yes and their faces dropped as they said “oh” and turned away towards the elevators. lol The airport shuttle picked us up at 9:45 and we were at the airport in time to check our luggage – watch some television overhead and look in a few shops – I purchased a last minute small gift for one of the ladies at work who did not want a voodoo doll and it was time to board. The flight from New Orleans to Cleveland was uneventful – had a good lunch on flight and a 45 minute stop in Cleveland – not enough time for Tramp’s friends to meet us there and say hi – but we thought of them while we waited to board the second plane on our journey home – Tramp took the window seat and watched the town where he grew up become smaller and smaller – he pointed out a few landmarks to us and we all settled in with visions of the Southland dancing in our heads. I felt a slight twinge as we left, I wanted to get home but at the same time – Ohio is right next to Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania is next to New Jersey –

Watch out for the cab drivers – be aware if they start driving the opposite direction from your hotel
Galitoires - a restaurant with such history should not be a disappointment but, it was
Have Beignets every day : ) order two plates – make friends with the pigeons

Blues Music – wanted to go off to a hidden club and make our way through the smoke to a tiny table that wobbled when the drinks were put down and write messages to each other on our drink coasters since we couldn’t hear each other but being new to the area with a big T for tourist on our foreheads in Neon Blue we decided not at this time
