Question for you Boardwalk owners

Hi! I just noticed last night that the points chart is way cheaper on standard view villas at Boardwalk. It appears to allow you to book a two bedroom for about the same points you can book a one bedroom at BCV or VWL.

Disney has opened up sales of BWV again since the sales center will be moving. Re-sale is also an option there. My question is... how hard are those standard view rooms to get? I understand that they make up only about 10% of the rooms, and that you must book them 11mos. out. Have you always been able to get one of these rooms if booking at 11 mos., and do you think you'd make the choice of BWV just to be able to get more villa for your money?

We really love the pool at BCV, and clowns kinda freak DH out, but this is another option to consider. :lol:

This December will be our third stay at the BW and it will be our third "standard view" (driveway & parking lot :? ) room. Never had a problem getting the room, but always made sure to call at 11 months out to the day.

Maybe some other BWers have had different experiences, but we've never had trouble getting what we wanted.

I agree with Paul. If you call EXACTLY 11 months out, you should be able to get a standard view. Remember though, you have to call every single day 11 months out-seven calls for seven days. If you messed up and forgot to call one day you could be in trouble.

That said, I have NEVER (in about five tries) been able to get a standard view if I called less than 11 months out.

And it depends on when you go. I booked a 1BR at BWV for my sister and got a standard view at 7 months out (I own at VWL) but that was for January. I also got a standard view studio for my b-day last year at less than 7 months but that was for a Saturday night when many DVC owners won't use their points. That time I was upgraded to a BW view which was cool. :D So it is possible to get if the timing is right.

We also have always gotten the standard room, but as everyone else has said, we did this at 11 months out. We're hoping to stay there in October (last minute decision) so we don't expect to get a standard room then.

I will join the chorus. We have always gotten standard view rooms when requested, until recently, when I tried to get one 8 months out for marathon weekend - only 2 of my four requested days were available for a std view 2 bedroom. I have been wait listed, but that expires tomorrow with no luck :cry:
