It's Sunday night right now, but tomorrow morning I'm headed over to USF to ride........ THE MUMMY!
I'll see what I can get for photos for a personal sneak preview for you.
If I see Brendon, I'll be happy to give him a slow, passionate kiss. For you, of course.
Perhaps even squeeze his cheeks?.....or his face?

Oh Moley....it was fabulous!! Way better than I had anticipated! And on this particular ride, the FOL pass puts you right to the loading area. That's while the standby time was 70 minutes, too.
Nice, big close-up shot of a Brendan movie at the end of the ride. I'm almost certain I heard him say "....just for you Moley" as our vehicle moved on.
Alas, I wasn't able to get any inside photos (it's quite dark inside the ride), but I have one from outside that I'll post later when I download my camera for the day.
Let me know how much you want to hear about the ride.

How much I want to hear about the ride?!! Are you demented, woman?  I'm dying here waiting for your report! :pinky:
I can't imagine how much fun a combo ride of a dark ride and a coaster will be. I'm paying dearly for a move to a Uni resort for one night in December and for one reason only...
I want my Mummy! :woot: :wuv:

Okay, here goes:
Lots of decayed mummys, rotting bodies, that sort of thing. Very dark. Movies, like holograms of the sand face from the movie threatening you as you pass through.
Then you plunge into spirals in the dark (this is the roller coaster part. Reminiscent of the sideways loops on RnRC). Very scary, very effective. Totally different from any other ride I've ever been on. Quite a rush!
You're gonna LOVE this one! It's worth every penny of the room to get to ride it too. If I were you, I'd grab a free express pass when you arrive so you can get another ride before 3pm.

Another hunk posed outside the Mummy ride.
They love to scare you here. Beware of hidden people jumping out at you in the hallways!

We were there end of August and I gotta say that the mummy ride was the BEST. I rode it 3 times in a row - once with room key for FOTL and twice in single rider which moved even faster!!! I would have ridden more but my family was waiting for me ;-). I sat once in the very front, once in the back, once in the middle. I liked the front best but could also be that the first time is the best. you'll love this ride ;-)
Laura
p.s. also was our FIRST time at universal and we stayed at RPH (for a great rate of 119). It was awesome and we are looking forward to returning.

Laura, what kind of a special was the $119 rate? That's darn good.

It was an entertainment rate! I had a good APH rate of 139/129/129 and then I called to check on ent rate and it was 149/119/119 so I took that, to save $10 and mostly because it meant I didn't have to have my pass before checking in. Then thanks to Charley we were delayed a day so I would up with only two $119 days ;-). And to think, originally when I started booking I couldn't even get a ROOM at RPH.

What a rate, Laura! Royal Pacific is our new Uni favorite. I'll be going back there for one night in December. Thank you for posting about your Mummy experience. I can't wait to try it, too. I'll be sure to ask for a front seat.

Oh he was real all right, Sharon. And he wasn't the only one. There were several more where he came from. Sometimes there would be one guy, sometimes 2 or 3 of them. One cuter than the next.
