It'a a beautiful day, and I am so motivated it isn't even funny.

Remember going to the mall yesterday to get the kids pictures taken? Well, they turned out great. I'll put pictures up on the website when I get it up and running. Spent way too much money on them, but I haven't gotten professional pictures of Leia since she was a baby. I haven't done it yet for Talia. I had a naked baby picture of Leia, and I HAVE to have one for Talia. She gets at least two professional photos (which is what Leia has) so that there isn't second child syndrome.

Anyway, we decided to run to Ann Taylor to check out the summer sales. I HATE shopping. I haven't liked the way I looked in things in years. I avoid mirrors at all cost. So, I start off by picking up a bunch of girlie dresses for formal night at the cruise. I pick a size 8 (hoping). My upper half is still pretty big (still nursing). They all fit. DH vetoes all but one -- but he vetoes them because they "aren't me". One he said made me look "waifish". Oohh. I'm enjoying this. Pick up a dress that is marked down to $60. I like it.

I grab several other skirts and pants and a couple of button up tops. I grab mediums for the tops (thinking no shot in ____). Grab 8's for all of the bottoms. I try on the first -- the top fits fine. The skirt is too big. I look for a 6. Only a 2 and a 14. I move on to the next outfit. 8 is too big again. I grab a 6 and a 4 (just for kicks). Try on the 4 first. It FITS! My DH hears me squeal from the dressing room. I have never worn a 4 in my live (which, I proudly pronounced to DH in the car that it is a 3/4 because of the way the sizes run). The lady working at Ann Taylor tells me she thinks things are running large right now. I tell her to hush. I'm enjoying this.

I look in the mirror and instead of thinking -- this isn't horrible -- I'm thinking "Clinton and Stacey are right --- I need to find things that are structured -- that show the difference between the massive top and the small waist".

DH goes on and on about how he didn't think I could possibly have lost this much weight in 4 months.

I was giddy. I can't wait to try on the clothes again (need to hem the pants, but oh well). This has been so worth it.

Thanks for always being here to cheer me on. You guys are great motivators, and I hope you know I appreciate it.

Never thought I'd think it would be so great to be on the wagon.

Have a great day all!

Amy

Amy, I am gleeful right along with you! A 4!! And I'm thinking about the saleslady's comment, "Shut UP!"

You should be so very proud of yourself. Four months of steady diet discipline can show great results. You may find your top doesn't go down as much. It may remain 'meatier' as you get older. That's why separates are made.

Well done! :D

Amy, I am so proud of you!! You deserve to have had such a wonderful time shopping, with all the hard work you've done to get down to a size 4! And just for the record, YOU motivate me to try. I have to agree with your Dh, NO waify look for you my dear, you're young, and thin Go for that Sexy Mom look and wear it proudly! You certainly deserve it!

Moley, you also are doing so well, and seeing you post everyday makes me want to try. Keep up the good work.

Well, it seems like I'm the only one here that goes down 5 - 10 lbs, then back up a few. Someone give me a BIG OLE KICK in the butt to get me going :!: Is my own fault, I need to remember I am in control :!:

Don't know how much I'll be around, as we start VBS this week, and on Wednesday afternoon I leave for a few days to vacation with my parents and sister Sandy's family. And NO it is not Disney. :? But instead a cottage (No air conditioning), on a lake (No Pool), with very little extras (NO TV, NO Computer). Keep your fingers crossed there is somewhere I can go shopping to. And I do have my book to read.

Todays goals:
drink water
make smart choices
get my butt to the post office!!

Heading out the door for a family (Ter's) party with a bunch of skinny minis. I'm the fat chick in the family. See you all soon.

I don't blame you for telling her to hush-up, I would have chosen the "shut" word vs. hush, but that's just me.

I have never worn a size 4!! Good for you! :bounce: You must be beside yourself w/excitement over that. I do have one question though. Now, the outfits that you DH was vetoeing, were they something that you would want to wear now that you've lost most of the weight or are they really "not you"? Or are they not him because he's freaking out because his wife looks so gorgeous??? He may have to really strap himself in for the new you! :D You're going to :dazzle: DH & anyone you see. :dazzle: Good for you!

I am down to the size I was before I had my kids, but they didn't make sizes smaller than 5"s back then that I'm aware of. Anyone know that answer? I was wearing a size 5 in 1974, but I don't know of size 2's or 0's back then. I'm I correct in this? I'm curious now.

Oh, I did have another helping of my ice cream last night, but just another "specified" portion size. Geez, never been able to control that. But, that's a very good thing. Being happy w/the portion size on the ice cream container. That's so foreign to me.   I'm killing myself here laughing. I mean, WHO is happy w/that portion?

I just woke up, but goals today are: :D

:D Smile :D

Drink all my water, haven't even started yet... :D

Eat smart :D Don't even have an idea what I'll be eating, but I'll try to be very smart about it.

I want to plan for my lunches at WORK (yay) this week, so I don't have a problem. :confused2:

:waving: Have a nice Sunday everyone! :tink:

WOW!! I can feel the excitement here today. Amy!!! What a motivation you are! Congratulations on your success. You must be having an absolute ball shopping for clothes for the cruise.

Sheryl, how about if we kick each other in the butt now and then. I know all too well the feeling. One day at a time sweetie. Have a great time at the cottage. We used to take a vacation like that every year when I was young. So many wonderful memories.

Moley, you are doing great. If I could sew I would make you a leopard pattern bench cover for the Bowflex. Maybe hang a few vines from it. Tarzan would love it.

Pam, I can feel your energy. Good luck with the stripping. sounds like quite a job.

Tinkerbell, ever wonder who decided that 1/2 cup was the serving size for ice cream? Hmmm to weigh what I did BC (before children). That would be GREAT! Well like you say, a girl can dream.

Got up late today, then Ali and I hit the pool. My sister and her kids came over and it was nice to spend the day in the SUN :sun: And... I wasn't eating. we will go to her house for dinner. PORTION CONTROL!!!

Goals for today
Water - I better get busy with this
Portion control
2 loads of wash

See you all tomorrow!

You and Ali are doing great on exercise, cshore. I love your idea for decorating the Bowflex. That would get me to spend some time there.

And yes, this 1/2 cup serving size of ice cream has always been an eye roller for foodies. I can get that portion onto one spoon dip. My mom used to serve the family ice cream in mixing bowls. She and Dad had great metabolisms so they weren't fat, but they had a chubby kid. Now I think anything less than that is no steenkin' serving. I have to start thinking in new ways.

I should have been raised by wolves.
