I know many people here fly Southwest. I'm sure some of you must have experience with pre-printing the boarding pass after midnight the day of your flight.

My question is, do they enforce the rule that says you can only do this if you are not checking any bags? We will surely have plenty of luggage needing to be checked.

I'm traveling with DH and two kids in my own party, and a friend and her two kids are on the same flight as well. It would be nice if we could get seats together, so I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has done the pre-printing.

Debi,

We have never preprinted our tickets, mainly because we had heard this was for single flyers, with carry on luggage. Don't know if this is accurate or not.

We have always just checked in curbside about two hours before hand. We normally get in section A, and can easily waste two hours in the airport.

In 2003 we had a layover in BWI and ended up with section C. I was scared to death we'd be separated from the boys, but they assured me that folks were always willing to switch seats rather than have to sit with someone else's kid.

Hope it all works out for you.

I'm with Sheryl, we always just get to the airport at least 2 hours ahead of time and have always gotten A passes. Even the few times we have gotten B passes we all sat together. Most folks are quite understanding and will switch around with you if they can so all can be happy. You might go over to Pete Werners site and do a search on this topic...its been addressed a great deal. Hope this helps.

happy planning,
Y...:)

We do the same as Sheryl...get there early...grab an "A" pass, and go.

Also...good idea to wear sandals when flying...less likely to be asked to remove the footwear for security purposes.
