This week's All Ears Newsletter reports that the port of call of Puerto Quetzal has been cancelled from both the May and August repositioning DCL cruises.
The May 14 cruise will add a stop in Mazatlan.
The August 20 cruise will have an overnight in Acapulco.

I don't think that is fair for us east-bound cruisers... :hppmad: What are we going to do in a port over night! I think they should add the same port as the west-bound! :boyears: Ok..I'm done complaining now! ;)

Overnight can be fun, since you can spend a late night on the town and not have to worry about making it back to the ship on time.
I believe it was on a Carnival cruise that stayed late in Acapulco when rumor had it someone actually had to be brought back to the ship in a wheel chair after a late night of partying.
ETA: Yup...they have a Senor Frogs. http://www.cgrobin.com/images/smileys/misc/drunk.gif

It means two days in Acapulco, Travis, maybe even an offering of an inland excursion. You may end up having the better experience on the eastbound.

Are any Taginators signed up for either of these cruises?
Or for that matter, has anyone signed up for any of the Love Boat cruises next summer?
I've heard that all of those cruises booked up very fast wen they opened.
I think an overnight in a fun port would be great! How about some overnights at Castaway Cay?

Will, Zeus and I will be on the first Love Boat route on May 28.
Both Travis and Betsy Ann are signed up for the 14 day repositioning cruise, bringing the Magic back home on August 20.
We were able to book our May 28 cruise while onboard our first cruise the week of May 8. We happened to book one week after all those West Coast cruises were first open to the public. That would have been the day all those who did not have a deposit in gave up a reservation. So our booking was at a very good rate and we got to pick our room for the cruise. Since then, the cruises have booked quickly and the rate for our class cabin went up $1200 since we booked. Youch. We feel very fortunate to have gotten a good price.

Hey Travis - surely we can find something for everyone to do in Acapulco! :D -- Thanks for posting this I have not had time to read All-ears yet! I might get time for my Alaska trip report done before the next cruise!
I think there is someone else signed up for the same cruise Moley is on - just can't remember who!?!?!

How I wish this could be true. Two days there would be heavenly.
