USAir frequent flyer miles

With the financial problems USAir is experiencing,(as well as a couple other airlines), should we be concerned about being able to use our FF miles?
DH keeps saying we shouldn't use them for inexpensive flights, but we don't have any long-distance (as in Europe, Hawaii, etc.) in the foreseeable future, and I keep thinking we'll lose them! Flights to FL for us really aren't expensive but that seems to be the only ones we are likely to take any time soon.
Any ideas?

Can you transfer them at all?

Never tried doing anything with them. We had a charge card that the rewards were USAir miles. We closed that one and now have the Disney VISA. DH doesn't seem worried about them, but you know that one of us has to worry, right??!!
I'll check into that just in case. I remember seeing somewhere that certain airlines honor other frequent flier miles, but didn't make a note of that.
