Check out this link to read an article on Disneyland news and where Fast Pass might be affected.

I can't claim to be at all familiar with the Disneyland parks, but I'd hate to see them take it off things like Splash Mtn. and BTMRR. I've never found it very helpful on Haunted Mansion and do agree that Pirates of the Caribbean loads fairly quickly. I'll never again ride Jungle Cruise if they take Fastpass away though. Just as long as they keep it for the biggies. It's awesome to do the combos like SM/BTMRR, ToT/RnRC, MS/TT. That's a huge touring strategy. Please don't take those away! And though I'm aware this is happening in DL/DCA right now. I always get a little bit scared when they start cutting back on things. Maybe this'll be OK.

What did this mean regarding Winnie the Pooh?

The lines rarely form for this brand new ride, I guess the word is out about it.

Does the DL version just stink or something? :?

Maybe word got out on how short the WINNIE ride is at WDW! Fun but way too short!

I just read the article. I read another the other day about how 'uncrowded' the DL resorts have been this summer. Last summer they were giving away one day pass, when you bought one.

It sounds to me as if the park just isn't busy enough to justify the added expense of FP. At a minimum there is the cost of maintaining the kiosks/clocks, the printing of the passes, and the CM that work the queues.

I am just reading this now - Rant alert! :hppmad:

And it is high time from this Disneyland fan. Fastpass has just plain messed with the natural touring and crowd flow pattern already there! While there is some advantage for just a handful of E attractions - HM and PoC never needed fast pass- they move people through quickly all by themselves - I have been waiting for the westcoast to wake up and it looks like maybe they have! And just in time for the 50th!
Rant over!

Alicia - the Pooh attraction is just plain in the wrong place - it is hidden over by Splash Mtn and just does not draw the little kids crowds as Fantasyland - if the children are too small to ride Splash it is kind of a long walk for a small attraction -- just my humble opinion of course! :D

BA, I think you are right on the money. It is not a bad thing to take Fast Pass off rides like Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Some rides beg for Fast Pass and others should never see it.

I think shows shouldnt have Fast Pass either. They tend to let in hundreds or even thousands at once so Fast pass to me is kind of, well how do you say it, Stupid

I think I need to move to Cali!! IF they parks are hurting that much in the summer, that they are giving away one day passes, then I need to be there. That is pretty cool. I really can't wait to go back there again. Maybe I'll have to plan a summer time trip again.

We were at DL/DCA last Friday and Saturday. Both HM and PoC fast passes were shut down and waits for these 2 rides never went above 30 min wait according to the board.

Splash Mountain on the other hand was a 120 minute wait! Fast passes were gone by early afternoon already (I strongly advise single rider for this one - we stood in line about 3 minutes before boarding!!!)

Park attendance seems up to me this summer, in both parks.

And I like the Pooh ride. But this is another ride that loads quickly. so even when the queue is completely full it only takes 10-15 minutes to load. Plus as Betsy said this is totally in the wrong place in the park.

We used fast passes for Indy and Roger Rabbit. Both had approx. 1 hour waits without them.

(They often do the buy a day/get a day free tickets - but they are for So. Cal. residents only, usually. Plus each ticket is only good in one park so go to DL 1st day then DCA 2nd day - can't do DL both days. I've always been told this is to increase traffic to DCA not DL.)

Barb, you'll be happy to know they have done away with fast passes for all the shows. No more stampeding people at rope drop for the Aladdin tickets. Even Bug's Life fast passes are closed down. Oh I forgot they still do fast pass for Millionaire show.
