Does anybody here get as big of a laugh out of these folks on this show as my family...?

Last night was their first new show of the season. (I missed the very first story about 2 sisters) The first guy kept yelling at the SW desk clerk and finally she denied him boarding due to his poor behavior. They then allow him to board at a later time, and he still continues to harass the help. This guy had some major issues and needless to say, they didn't let him fly at all at the end..they escorted him from the plane.

Then there was the african american lady that didn't have a ticket. BUT when she said she had gone thru security and they had wanded her I knew she had to have had a ticket because you can't get thru a security checkpoint unless you have a ticket and an ID so I knew she was telling the truth. Her ticket was found later on and she made her trip. (I was quite happy for her!)

Then there was the family of 6 that had a flight cancelled or they missed a connecting flight (I'm not sure of which one). Anyhow, he proceeds to yell at the gals at the desk also. Had he calmed down and asked them to get his family another carrier to get them to their destination, he might have come out ok. They got a refund and huffed off and were going to drive home.

Working with the public every shift in ER, I can totally relate to these poor SW workers. People can be so impatient its amazing they've lived as long as they have. I never knew until watching this show just what they go thru...its amazing. You cannot board ANY plane without a ticket...or ID..or a boarding pass..if you are improperly dressed...yelling/cursing at the employees...or if you are drunker than six monkees! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out folks...lol You WILL catch more flies with honey than vinegar..its a known fact.

My personal fav of all time on this show: daughter pushes grandma in wheelchair up to the gate with a CO2 tank attached. The SW employee begins to tell her that you cannot take oxygen onto the airplane. (this is stated in their rules online and probably on the tickets) The daughter begins to pitch a fit and says her grandmother just got released from the hospital and had planned this trip for a long time to Vegas. The SW employee proceeds to call the hospital and they inform her that the daughter signed the GM out AMA (against medical advice)....oh dear. The SW employee goes back to the daughter/GM and tells her that the GM cannot fly without the oxygen and SW won't let her board with it...so the daughter says "FINE...we'll just leave it off...she will be ok...!!!" Yikes....I'm picturing little Billy in flight.."gee Mommy...GM is turning a shade of blue..is she ok?"..."of course Billy, she'll be fine once we land and can reconnect her oxygen". What are these people thinking for heavens sake....!!!!!!!

off her soapbox now.

I have two friends who are airline attendants. I asked them if they had watched this show (I had heard such good things about it)and they both said there was no way they could even look at it. It was just too much of their reality and there was nothing amusing in it for them.

Too bad!

But then again, I have no desire to watch those labor and delivery shows on TV either!

I haven't heard of it either. It sounds interesting though. 8)

When I first read the title of the thread I thought of the 1980 movie, and agreed that those people had issues.

This show is really funny. Did anyone see the one with the bride and the plane luggage carrier thingy ran over her wedding dress? Man was she ever hopping mad! (the wedding had already happened she was on her way back home)

Its a hoot WDWDen....you and your family will laugh. I also stand to correct myself in my original post. Southwest does not have a contract with other carriers to put you onto another plane for your destination and I had forgotten that. I didn't mean to confuse anyone with that statement. I still have had only good luck with them and will continue to use them for future flights....can't bean $118 RT.....
