We're booked at POFQ in August. I was wondering if you can get the boat to Downtown at the marina there or do you still have to go to Riverside. Also, how's the walk from FQ to River Roost? We're thinking about catching Bob's show and don't want to drive over.

Yes, you can still get the boat at FQ, but it is usually blocked by the time it comes back. So we caught it before it went to Riverside so we were guaranteed a seat.

Can't answer your question about the boat but can tell you that Rich and I went to peek at the refurbished rooms there in May and found them to be really nice looking. I just know you will have a great time. We wish you a wonderful vacation.

Hey Thanks. Great, looks like we can get the boat from FQ, and checking the resort maps it looks like anywhere in FQ isn't too far from Riverside. Can't wait to try out the new rooms. I'm looking forward to the new privacy curtain. They have that at CBR and it was great.

The walk is not bad, if you use the waterfront. It is also very pretty. If you get tired, you can take the boat back.

What are the privacy curtains?

Do you mean the curtains now close completely without have to rig them to prevent those little 'peek a boo' openings?

No, there's a curtain between the sinks/bathroom and the main part of the room. Very handy if you want to get ready for the day before the rest of your family is awake.

When we stayed at POFR we never had any problems catching to boat (and sitting) to downtown and back - though we were there during President's Weekend .

As Moley said, the walk is quite nice and it isn't very long at all.

It's not exactly a short walk though!! From the pool area at FQ to the boat launch at RS, I bet its a LEAST a quater mile! Although it IS a very nice walk!! Last time we stayed there, I walked the entire look several mornings, stopping at each and every pool along the way  It helped pass the time when I was up at 5am and Jenine slept till 10am

The walk isn't that far if you stay in Bldg 5. (my personal fave)

Listen here smiley stealer, Bldg 5 happens to have a great location as it is close to the pool, and not a far walk to get a refill on my refillable mug!

Just got back from our two week trip. Spent the first week at POFQ and loved it. I can try to help you with any questions if you want.

Looks like neither one of us can sleep......LOL......What did you like best here? Which building did you have ? Would you reccommend it? Did you miss having a sit down restaurant? Was the food court good?

LOL LouAnn, after being away from teh computer for two weeks, I can't turn it off.

We really enjoyed POFQ, I was a little nervous that we would not like it as much as CSR, but we did.

I was a little disappointed when they gave us our room, because it was in Building one, and on the map it looked like we were way out in no man's land, but it really was not a far walk, and we had a very nice view, near the water. Our room was #1236 on the second floor, and it was gorgeous. The decor was very classy and elegant, in shades of blue and gold, with rich looking furniture.

Because this resort is smaller, it was a short walk to the food court, bus stop, and boat dock. We did enjoy the food court, and honestly did not miss the sit down dinner. Our family is NOT a big breakfast family, and we don't normally eat right away (bad I know, but normal for us), so we mostly had PS's for lunch when we ate our biggest meal, with a snack or lighter meal later in the night.

I'd rate this resort a 10 out of 10! We really enjoyed it! when I get Ter to down load the pictures, I'll email them to you.

You're right, Jim. There are a lot of us staying there. :D I bet we'll have some fun morning bus rides to the parks. :grouphug: And they better stock up on that banana stuffed french toast. I think they're going to need a lot of it.
