With the 4th of July holiday just around the corner and party invitations arriving, it's time to get focus on party food avoidance plans. OK, I just received 1 invitation to a party and I'm already worried how I'm going to handle the day. How do you avoid the pitfalls of party going?

I plan on bringing a large green salad and low carb wraps, a low carb desset and my bottle water. I know I won't offend the hosts because they are my best friends and both just started SBD about 4 weeks ago.
Any suggestions will be happily received.

----

Now that's off my chest, I can tell you about yesteerday. When I call DDIL to check on the baby, she sounded so tired. I told her to pack everyone up and come here for a while. The DGKs enjoyed the pool, she got to relax, even the baby seem happy to be here, napping in the cool breeze by the kiddy pool in mom's arms. I did get alot of chores done but no progress on the babies room. I target that today while evryones at the doctor's office for checkups and I have the day off for real today.

I wasn't very good food wise yesterday. I didn't exactly fall off the wagon but found myself eating larger portions and extra snacks. I have no idea why or even realized I was doing it until DH mention that to me. Thanks dear, you are my hero and you saved me from myself!

So with more focus, Today's Goals:

Drink 64 oz of water
Eat healthy on SBD.

Have a magical day!

WOW! Twirlergirl, this is your second day off, enjoy! Have I told you lately what a great MIL you are?

Since I will be at Disney for the fourth, I probably won't be doing to good with the diet.

Our bedroom has clean clothes piles everywhere, the laundry is caught up, and I only have to clean the kitchen, living room and family room. Getting close, but still trying hard to not get to excited, not close enough yet for that.

Today's goals:
drink water
make healthy choices
get things done

Hope you all have a successful day! :circle:

Great afternoon Healthinators!

Sheryl- How can you keep from getting too excited? With 3 days to go I'd be glued to the ceiling. Live it up on the 4th, you'll be walking it off. I see birthday cake in your future! :D

TwirlerGirl- It sounds like you have a good plan for the 4th. I find it hard when I'm home and not busy to avoid snacking. I'm working on it though. One solution is to go shopping!

Today I will

Eat healthy

Drink only water

2 1/2 miles

That's about it!!!! Have a great evening everyone.

cshore, AliKat, Esmerelda and Ursulinda......I miss you alot. Please drop in and let us know how you are doing.

Hi all,

Some of you people just exhaust me!

I too have lots of "affairs" coming up - seems like at least once a week if not more all the way through Labor Day. If I'm not up to making a dish to bring along and don't know what is there, I just eat something first. Most things are cookouts though, so pretty confident they will have cheeseburgers that I can eat. If no veggies I can eat and I'm hungry I'll just fill up on the meat until I go home.

I did a few no nos when Val was here, and then at our company picnic last Thursday I caved and had two S'mores! I've been 100% back on the wagon since then though. And no marshmallows & chocolate coming with me camping this weekend.

Thursday is another cake day, but I have gotten really good at cutting the cake and not having any. And I know they are really good cakes, but I always resist. But if I give in I won't continue to lose weight, and after losing mega pounds people are regularly noticing. The comments definitely keep the momentum going - especially the one I got the other day about how it made me look younger.

Goals:
Stay Focused
Be prepared

Hi all!

Today was a good day -- very busy, but good. A coworker's position was eliminated some time ago and tomorrow is his last day. I couldn't go to lunch with himtomorrow, so we took him today. We went to Guido's pizza. I had one slice of cheese pizza and accounted that into today's calories. Not bad.

Still need to exercise tonight. I'll get that in.

As for the potlucks, there are several things I remember to stay on track:

1. I know I will regret eating badly later. Instant gratification is good; however, it is temporary. If I can get through the moment, I will always be glad.

2. Nothing can taste as good as being thin will feel. I have a goal, and I want to stick to it.

3. The single most effective diet tool I have found is a food diary. What I eat goes on the diary BEFORE I eat it. Then, I can consider whether it is worth it.

4. Remember that you are working on about a 7 day average. It's not about what you eat today. It's about what you do cumulatively. One day can blow a week; however, a little cheating can be made up pretty easily.

Hope all of you have a fantastic day!

Amy
