So, now that JetBlue has released their airfare for January, I'm going to book my airfare for Tag-A-Venture soon. I have the Villas at Grand Californian booked for January 21-28! I think I'm going to fly down Thursday night instead of Friday morning. I can get a flight at about 7:00 that will get me into LAX at about 11:00 (or 2:00 a.m. my time). I'll either stay at a hotel near the airport that night, or take a shuttle out to a hotel near DL for that first night. It will be a long day, but I figure it will help me adjust to the time difference quicker.

I have been checking flights for us as well. I would prefer to fly out of Syracuse but they don't have very good connections coming back from LAX. Getting to MCO isn't a problem. I have decided to book with Air Canada and we will fly out of Toronto. I will probably book sometime in September.

We're on United and have already had all of our flights changed LOL! I believe the homeward flights are actually a good change (leaving slightly later from SNA) the change to MCO was terrible- we h=now have a 5 hour layover in Chicago- but it beats going to Washington DC and having an extra leg of the trip. (and an extra place to get caught up by weather!)- especially in Jan.

Just a thought - be sure to check flights to and from all the local LA airports- I know LAX is the largest- but there are others. We are flying out of John Wayne Airport (SNA) which is actually (or so I've been told) closer to DL

John Wayne is definitely closer than LAX, as is Long Beach.
I flew into Long Beach the last time I was there. It's a tiny little airport--just three or four gates. There was only one baggage claim area, and it was outdoors. I was looking for the jetway when I saw two guys push a ramp over and set hydrolic breaks to keep it in place.
I felt like I was in the episode of I Love Lucy when they went to Hollywood. haha.

I love Long Beach airport (LGB). So quick and easy to get through. You can grab a taxi just across the walkway from the baggage claim (about $65 from LGB to Disneyland resorts).
There is also ONT which is closer than LAX, but not as convenient as SNA.
So - you have a few choices.
If you decide to stay near LAX, the Sheraton LAX usually has great rates and is convenient. They have an airport shuttle. If you use SuperShuttle, you can also just arrange for your pick up at the hotel and drop of at Grand CA.
Happy planning!

Thanks for the tip of having SuperShuttle pick me up at the hotel if I decide to stay at LAX.
Right now, I have a Courtyard over near Disneyland booked for the first night (I have a friend who works for Marriott who can get me great deals).
I'm thinking about flying into Long Beach, and out of LAX, as the flight to Long Beach is a bit earlier, and it will be easier than dealing with LAX when I've been up for nearly 24 hours at that point.
Decisions, decisions :)

Flying Southwest into MCO....but they haven't released the January dates yet. We'll be sailing into Port of LA on the Wonder, but I'm beginning to wonder if we'll be able to get home.....????

The dates were released about 3 days before you posted this. Are you sure you looked at the right date?

I have officially booked my airfare! The price came down a bit, so I went ahead and booked (hoping it goes down again so I can get some money credited back, too). I actually paid $20 less than I paid when I flew to DL in 2007!
I wound up deciding to fly into Long Beach, and fly home from LAX. The Long Beach flight gets in about 90 minutes earlier than the LAX flight. I figure the quicker trip to Anahiem from Long Beach, and the less congested airport will be much easier for me since I'll have been up for about 20 hours from the time I leave for work in the morning until the time I arrive at the hotel.

We have our flights booked  We are using points and flying out of Toronto to MCO with Air Canada. We went with AC so that we could have a direct flight home from LAX, anything into Syracuse or Buffalo had stop overs.

Booked our homeward flight out of SNA on Southwest....now we're all set. We have a room, our flight to FL, our flight home, the cruise...all we need now are park tickets....and if Disney comes up with a nice package deal, we can always change hotels....

If anyone plans to visit Hollywood and Los Ageles at the beginning or end of their trip and plan on staying there instead of Annaheim, I would highly recommend looking in to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank.
Burbank Airport is closer to Hollywood than any of the others, and about the same distance to the center of LA as LAX. It is also closer to Griffith Park. However it is a extremely tiny airport, so much easier. It is one floor, only 14 gates, drop-off & pick-up are the same spot.
The difference in prices for me were the same as from the other small airports. I checked all four in the area. I flew into LAX for the savings, but flew out of Bob Hope for the convenience of when I was leaving.
The only drawback was that it is so small, they have very limited food choices and because of that very expensive - more than any other airport I've been to. There is a little plaza right next door where you could pick up food if you have time.
It would not be as easy for Disneyland, as the other small airports, but if you plan to stay in LA or Hollywood or even in Burbank at the beginning or end of your trip, you really should check out the flights to/from there.

If you have tickets on Southwest, check the prices. I got tickets to/from Orange County. I had been watching both LAX and SNA. LAX was 40 rt less than SNA until today. SNA was $20 cheaper.
The one thing that I don't understand is some of the flights leave Salt Lake and change planes in Denver (east) to go to Orange County. Crazy.

Airline routes are one of my favorite ranting points. I realize they have to hit hubs but. . . I often have to head to Chicago (north of here but not bad) or Dallas (way west of here) to get to Orlando. I love the fact that on Delta I switch at either Cincinnati or Atlanta (both the right direction at least) LOL

My flight went down in price today, and I was able to call JetBlue to issue a $60 credit to my JetBlue bank! My flight is now costing me $299 round trip! Yay!

JetBlue keeps on lowering my fare! I have called and gotten credits four times. My flight is now costing me $269 round trip, and I thought I got a good fare when I booked it at $359!
