Some of you know I write a weekly article for Deb Wills' AllEars.net blog, Picture This!. Barrie and Lisa (Photographer) also contribute weekly and we all do to the Disney Pic of the Week (http://land.allears.net/blogs/photoblog/photography/pic_of_the_week/) themes.

This week marks my third year at AllEars.net. Over the last three years, digital photography technology has gotten better and better. I know a lot of you have upgraded to more advanced digital cameras.

However, the basic ideas of photography still need to be learned and understood. With that in mind I published what I am calling a Beginner's Guide to Digital Photography (http://land.allears.net/blogs/photoblog/2010/07/digital_photography_beginners.html) using some of the first articles I wrote for Deb.

Here is another series of articles I wrote on my personal photoblog about how to get sharp photos.

Secret to Sharp Photos (http://stphoto.wordpress.com/2009/02/11/secret-to-sharp-photos/)

Secret to Sharp Photos II (http://stphoto.wordpress.com/2009/04/29/secret-to-sharp-photos-ii/)

Secret to Sharp Photos III (http://stphoto.wordpress.com/2010/02/26/secret-to-sharp-photos-iii/)

Oh, and don't forget the use of Disney Quadpods (aka trash cans) found throughout the themeparks.

Added this for those who might be a little confused about how Apertures and f-stops work (Updated 8/27/2010).

An Aperture Manta (http://stphoto.wordpress.com/2010/08/27/an-aperture-mantra/)

A question Barrie, Lisa and I get a lot at Picture This! is how to best photograph the Disney fireworks shows. Here are a couple of posts which should help you for getting those Ohhh...Ahhh fireworks photos.

Photographing Disney Fireworks - Part 1 (http://land.allears.net/blogs/photoblog/2010/11/photographing_fireworks_part_1_1.html)

Photographing Disney Fireworks - Part 2 (http://land.allears.net/blogs/photoblog/2010/11/in_progress_photographing_fire_1.html) (featuring Neutral Density filters)

If you are new to photography or want to learn more, check these links out!

Thanks!

Thanks, Scott! That's a terrific roundup of some terrific articles.

I'm going to make it a sticky, so it will stay at the top of the Photo board.

Thanks Scott, this looks like a great addition to the site.

Online access is a little slow where we're camped right now, but I'm sure going to study this when I get home!

Congratulations on your 3rd year @ Allears!
Thanks for your well written articles. I particularly enjoyed reading about bracketing for exposure compensation. Is there more to the article? Seemed to be cut off when you got to bracketing. Something I should do more of especially in WDW where you can't just go back and capture the moment.

Thank you for perfect timing. We are going in just two months and I plan on really going over each section in detail. I had purchased a Nikon SLR and so far have relied on the automatic settings. I can't wait to put all this information to use.
Congratulations on 3 years at allears.

Thanks, Willcad!

I will add more links on digital photography to this thread. I have others which will be of interest to people learning dSLR cameras or want to learn how to get out of the Green box (Auto). :)

I encourage all of you to visit Picture This! (http://land.allears.net/blogs/photoblog/) and search for subjects of interest as Barrie, Lisa and I have posted a lot of information on photographing at Disney themeparks.

Great idea, Scott. I recommend that you add the links to the first post, so everything will be together at the top.
