Okay guys:
This December's trip I hope to get ressies for a romantic dinner for DH and I. We have been celebrating our anniversary in Dec. due to that being our big trip of the year and last year DH and I got "rehitched" at Garden Grill by Chip. Lots of fun and a pic and a certificate to boot!
I have never tried one of those dinners where you can eat in a private room (Victoria and Alberts?). I also remember reading about the Imagineering lunches (if they are still in existence by Dec.) and one couple had a private room and waitstaff during the lunch plus received a plate the imagineer signed as a souvenir.
What can you suggest? I know Victoria and Albert's may be a little too expensive for us. Where else? Poly? (We did the luau for our honeymoon and had to go up on stage and dance - a bunch of youngin's and just us two old folks!!)

Kristen and I really enjoyed our night out (kids stayed with a "Fairy Godmother" sitter) at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Very nice restaurant, GREAT service, and delicious food. Followed by a nice stroll around the Boardwalk or over to Epcot to watch Illuminations. VERY nice! :)

I cannot recommend enough Arthurs 27 at wyndam palace, just oposite downtown disney.
I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten anywhere.
it has won the Orlando fine dining award many times, and is probably equivalent to V&A's at least in quality and service.
The ambience in the restaurant was wonderful.. with a pianist softly tinkling the ivories..
each couple had their own picture window with a private view of Epcots fireworks.
The service was impeccable.. and we have been trying to get back ever since!
Wow Cinderella....thats a great question. I personally really like the California Grill at the Contemporary. They have great food and a super view of the fireworks. I won't say it was romantic my last trip there but if you're with the right person it could be! :) You might try reading some reviews and that may be helpful to you also..

Rich and I did a later dinner at Ohana and had a window table. You can watch the fireworks there. The service is very perssonalized iMHO and the food and atmosphere was great.(Even for diabetics as it is cooked over the open grill and has shrimp etc). I know you would like atmosphere and not have to take out a new mortgage and this might fit the bill for you.
I would do the Yachtsman - we loved it - ate there three times so far and each time love it : ) What was nice - was they knew it was our anniversary : ) without telling them - we had mentioned it in passing three nights previous at the Cape May Clam Bake and the waiter there must have told the manager, etc. - well they got it in the system : ) at the end of the dinner annivesary chocolates were brought out to us with a chocolate card that states Happy Anniversary - there were about six various chocolate concoctions on the plate with a candle - we made a wish : ) a few more times after that at various other places they mentioned our anniversary - we know how it is done now lol but it was still nice that we were greeted with congratulations etc.
Enjoy wherever you choose : )
