I just saw on the DIS that they will be offering a World of Color dining package at either Ariel's Grotto or the Wine Country Trattiota. Price is around $40. Might be a fun group thing one of the evenings. I'm looking forward to hearing more about it when it starts.

I was confused about the name at first.... Does the package include a view of the new nighttime lights and music show night time show on DCA's lake?

Wdwwinfo.com say there is: A new 9,000 seat theater has been built to provide the best viewing opportunity for the show.
I See and photo the location At DCA and there is NO 9,000 Seat.
Or you count seat on the ground a seat. Disney may bring in 9,000 folding chairs?
There is some bench Not for 9,000 people.
I have to say there is Standing room only and some wet zone.

I think it would be a great idea- count me in, and depending on the day we decide to go Mike too!

Great info Suzy, thanks. I imagine, like all ressies at DLR, it will be at the 30 day mark. Since we are there in January I suspect it may only be weekends. We arrive on a Friday and I will NEED to go directly to Disneyland so this may work out for Saturday night.

Interesting offer - Dinner at either sounds good to me - Get special ticket to stand and see the show - that is classic Disneyland!
Dessert for Fantasmic would be great too!

Actually, these are booked through Dining - so reservations can be made 60-days in advance. (Premium Viewing packages such as Fantasmic Desserts are made through another department and are accepted at 30-days out).

are people thinking of doing both the Fantasmic dessert and the World of Color dinner?

I would do both of them :)

I would do both also. If I was to pick one I think I would go with the Fantasmic Dessert.

Hey that is my line!;)
If I had to choose one I would choose the Fantasmic Dessert package. If you decide to see Fantasmic without this, we will need to camp out hours before to get a great place to watch. Sitting on the ground is not as fun as it was a few years ago. Now we have walked up and found a decent place to stand and watch about 30 minutes before. Not sure might need Alan to tell us about how the Wonderful World of Color is looking as we get closer. New show may mean less at Fantasmic - I would guess in Jan. They will not run both shows on the same night.

Here is the DisneyLand Park blog that tells about the viewing options on World of Color. The fast pass ticket is going to be interesting. We are going the week of the 27th so I'll let you know which option we choose and how the viewing goes. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/06/world-of-color-viewing-tips/ Although, I have to say I'm depending on AK and his usual promptness to help us prepare!

Is this still going to be showing in January? I just read this on the link about the dinner package:
"The 25-minute show is scheduled to run June 11 - August 29, 2010 at 9:00 pm and 10:15 pm."
I'd be interested in doing this, if it's going to be going on when we're there.

We went on July 3rd and bought the Picnic option. We got passes for the yellow zone. I got the Salmon picnic and my husband and grand kids got the chicken option. We felt the food was not to bad for Disney and having the pass with out standing in line to get in the mroning was a huge plus. We ate our picnic while we watched the parade in DCA. The show was great. we was in one of the handicap sections. high up near the rail and had good view. We did get misted on even through we was far from water edge.

We went June 30th and didn't get a dinner package. We entered through Grand Californian (cms are trying to crack down on non resort folks using that entrance-we had to show our room key for the first time)first thing in the morning and I immediately got in line for fastpasses for the evening show. The line was the longest I've ever been in as far as length but I got to the machines in 45 min just as the CMs said when I entered the line back in front of Soarin'. We got passes for the first show and stood in the red section. The first show gets to go right into the viewing area at 7:30 while the 2nd and sometimes 3rd shows line up at Grizzly River. While waiting in line another couple said that a third show had been added every night for the week that they were there.
Standing in one spot for the 2hrs of preshow time and show was hard on my old joints but the show was great. The night before we did Fantasmic and the good part about that one is they give you chairs.
World of Color is an amazing show with spectacular music and pictures. It brought tears to my eyes several times. We did get misted even though we were 2 sections away from the water. Some of the mist depends on which way the wind blows.
I imagine in January they won't run as many shows and may only do the weekends-just like Fantasmic.
