We have picked up a nasty virus, a trojan, a "malware", that I wanted to warn you all about. It is homesearchassistant. It comes in the form of a pop up. It will pop up several times in a row and once you have exited from that pop up 4 times, it installs itself on your computer. I now have pop ups constantly and it changed my home page from MSN to a Search window. No matter how many times you reset it to default, it goes back to the search window.

Ken found some information here Homesearchassistant (http://www.computing.net/security/wwwboard/forum/12373.html) and has spent 2 days trying to get rid of it. Today will be the third.

We just wanted to give you all the heads up that if that pop up happens, shut down the internet, do NOT just click out of it.

Install yourself some programming like adaware. It can help you isolate something like this. Our server company said this is the next plague of the Internet after Spam.

We have adaware. And IT didn't catch it. Neither did the firewall. Ken is VERY villigent about this computer. Sometimes I think he protects it more than us. ROFLOL! Just kidding!!

Been there - done that - and it was a pain to get rid of! The version that attacked my computer made the firewall look like it had been corrupted - then when I went to re-install - it really took down the firewall and then the virus had a hayday!

Good luck and thanks Ken for making it so LG can play with us! :D
