Hello!

We were not planning to go, nor I hardly dreamed to go to Hong Kong Disneyland (nor Asia countries, lol), but now we know we'll be going to Hong Kong in 2010/4. :D

We planned to go to Saipan for snorkeling, relaxing and maybe some SPA time (woo-hoo), we got FFM reward tickets, booked a room, transportation and SPA.... but, Delta will stop NGO-SPN flight service. So now we need to fly to Narita first in the morning then over 8 hours transit (!!!) to Saipan. On our way back, have to leave early again to Narita first then over 8 hours transit to Nagoya Centrair.... If Mamoru could take a day off before Golden Week holidays (4/29) we could still go to Saipan but it's impossible for him to take it so we gave up. :(

Both of us were SO disappointed needless to say, you know? Somehow I couldn't give it up completely because this would be the only trip for Mamoru this year, he won't come with me to WDW. So I checked other destinations not so far from here (short trip because) using our FFM milage. Bingo!! Hong Kong is possible.

Delta canceled our FFM reward trip to Saipan without charging $100, but it will take while to get back those FFM in our account. Luckily I have enough FFM in my account to redeem another 40,000 FFM for Hong Kong trip.

We'll be arriving very late....11 PM in Hong Kong airport. Also leaving early morning so we only have 2 days to enjoy Hong Kong.

I need to research a lot what to do... or where to stay. Maybe we will stay Hollywood Hotel or if we can afford Disneyland Hotel. Well, it might be better to stay other hotels in city/downtown then visit Hong Kong Disneyland, I don't know I really don't know, :?

Decisions, decisions.... any suggestions???

ETA:2010/3/15 Update.
Well, it seems like Mamoru needs to go to work for a day or more during this vacation. :( So, we won't be able to go to Hong Kong Disneyland as we planned. I just canceled hotel reservations and will do for air tickets. Too bad that it's FFM reward trip yet they'll charge us $100 for canceling.

But, but..... now we know we'll be going to Tokyo Disney Resort in mid April. It's just an overnight trip.
You know I will visit WDW for this year yet Mamoru can't come with me, so we're happy with our Hong Kong Disneyland trip now we know it won't happen.

So, he needs to go to Disney......we haven't been to Tokyo for a few years I guess, surprise, surprise!!

We're sorry for our friends who were excited for our Hong Kong trip. :(

you must have a bazillion frequent flier miles from all those japan to florida trips. Good to use them instead of saving too many I think, you never know what will happen to the program someday

Suggestions? Welll, ummmm you could use your FFM stuff to get me there and then I can be your tour guide. You won't have to spend time researching anything! LOL:minnie:

Seriously - awesome for you, have a great time!

Not that much, a bazillion FFM, but like you mentioned it's good to use them whenever/wherever we can, we never ever thought that NWA would be GONE and Delta took over it...

Nancy, oh boy good try. Sorry I can't let you be our guide this time.

Sorry to hear your first plan didn't work out, but you have a great alternate plan.

You stole my suggestion!

Thanks Karen. And again good try, sorry about that....

OK, here is an update.
We'll be staying Hong Kong Disneyland on our arrival night. They have a nice plan called Victorian Escape from HK$2,828. Staying in a garden view (least expensive room I suppose), get two Tissue Massage or Facial (both priced approx. HK$1,000) and late check out.

So next day we both will get Tissue massage in Victorian Spa at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and strolling or running around the hotel to many photos.

Then for next two nights we'll be staying in Disney's Hollywood Hotel.

Again this is very short trip only 2 full days and now we have a SPA time so it'll be SUPER busy..... hahaha.

We're hoping to go to Downtown (?) area for dinner and dessert. ;)

It was about this time 3 years ago that I was in HK Disneyland. We had a blast! People laughed at us that we were in HK and only went to Disney but it was at the end of our adoption trip and we couldn't extend it too much longer. We're planning on revisiting HK Disney (along with China) in 6 years when Jess is 10, Jason's graduating from high school and DH and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary.

Daniel and I visited HKDL a couple of months after it opened in 2005. Very nice park, but keep in mind that it is small. Even though they have added a few things since 2005, it is still not a full-day park. A couple of attractions that have their own HKDL uniqueness are the Jungle Cruise and Festival of the Lion King (and I from what I hear, Small World as well), you'll definitely want to check those out.

You might be content to just hang out at the resort, but if you run out of things to do, it's easy to get on the MTR and head into the city to do a few touristy things. We were staying in the city, so we took the train over to HKDL for the day. We arrived early and took a shuttle bus over to the Hollywood Hotel for breakfast. (I'm a big fan of Art Deco, so I loved exploring that hotel!) I have some photos of the visit here (http://www.pbase.com/tominpok/hkdl1105).

Looking forward to reading about your experiences there!

How exciting! It sounds like a wonderful trip. After running around the park, maybe you'll want another SPA visit. :D

I'm sure Suzy with have some advice for you too!

Hi Tom.

Thanks for sharing your great photos. I can't wait to see them in person, :minnie:

Since it IS a very short trip with a Spa reservation I am SO glad to hear that it's still NOT a full-day park. How irony, eh? ;)

I still think I need to have some those must-do/see ones in my mind clearly, ummm.

I know about another SPA, but hey we'll get one anyway after a LONG traveling day/night. Hong Kong is about 5 hours or so flight from Japan but due to NOT SO GOOD connection it will take much longer to go and back, yikes.

Hi everyone!

I'm feeling bad and terrible to do this. I just updated the first post. We won't be able to go to Hong Kong due to Mamoru's work shift.

But....I have a good news to share with you all again.
We'll be going to Tokyo Disney Resorts in mid April. Just an overnight trip but hey, right?

Sorry for not being able to share the photos and stories from Hong Kong. We hope we can take some nice photos from Tokyo Disney Resorts instead of. ;)

Hi Mate

I have also planned to visit Disney land at Hongkong next month . I request you to share me your experiences there and what are the names of places delightful to watch in Disneyland Hongkong.:)

Hello.

I'm afraid but I know almost nothing about Hong Kong Disneyland or even Tokyo Disney.

I think Jack Spence from All Ears knows the best about them. Here is his blog on All Ears, if you haven't checked them yet, do so please. Enjoy!
