I called DVC this morning and booked the Grand Californian for January 21-26 using my brand new DVC points! My birthday is January 27, so I may either try to book more nights at the Grand Californian at the 7 month window so I can extend my trip, or I may decide to fly to Vegas for a couple of nights after Tag-A-Venture. Decisions decisions :)

Wow nice early reservation.
Amazes me when people can plan trips a full year away.
Tip: there's a back entrance to california adventure from grand californian. Sort of like the back entrance at epcot.

The beaches and piers are so close, that's another good birthday idea for a trip extension. (OK I'm not the biggest vegas fan)

The drive to and around big bear mountain is super pretty also, though there's a chance of weather issues on the road. Guess a bostonian wouldn't be thrilled about seeing snow though. :)

I've stayed at the Grand Californian twice, and I absolutely love it there. It's a great resort!

I love the entrance to California Adventure from the Grand Californian. It's usually not crowded. Just a quick walk in.

Sounds FANTASTIC! Can't wait to hear what the decision is for your birthday treat. So many wonderful things to do in the SW.

No place to stay yet but I have plane tickets. We are booked down to Orlando for the cruise on the 5th and Mike will come back on the 23rd and I'll leave Calif on the 25th, we even got first class flying back. I learn something new about using points everytime I do it!

Maybe now I can relax for awhile and not be quite so excited about the trip!

No air yet - the schedule isn't open, but I did book the Candy Cane Inn, yesterday :)

My plan is to stay there until Monday and then fly to Vegas for a couple days (my son lives there) and then either fly home or back to Florida for a few more days. (It's half the cost to fly to FL than to fly home direct.)
