Thank God for DVC!

Thank God for DVC! Those were my last words before I went to sleep last night. :lol:

We've just gotten back from a weekend out of town for a ball tournament. One night with all of us in one motel room has given me a new appreciation for our DVC purchase. :D

The entire team was staying at the Country Inn & Suites. Nice enough place. Our family of 5 was getting ready for bed, and were finally settled with DH and I in one queen bed, two kids in the other, and the youngest in a crib which she's just about too big for. It had been kind of an ordeal getting everyone bathed, settled down without cover fights, and OK with the room temp.

As I'm about to dose off, I tell John exactly what my thoughts are..."thank God for DVC". One night in a regular motel room reminded me just how nice it is to have seperate bedrooms, two or three TVs, a tub and a shower, or even two baths, and a blessed central air system that doesn't rattle like those darn units by the window in most motel rooms. Is it even possible to get a happy medium on those things? :evil:

I can tell you for certain that we'll be enjoying our 10 day vacation in October MUCH more by having the comforts of "home". :D

I have to agree. We stayed at the GF for a Christmas trip after being in a one bedroom DVC the previous summer, and while GF was very nice, we just kept talking about how much we missed that one bedroom unit! Talk about spoiled rotten!!! :shock:

But it just makes a HUGE difference in comfort level for us. And I find I'm willing to pay the price for larger rooms now. (Marriott Residence Inn has VERY nice rooms. Used them in Hershey, and we are staying at another one for our last couple nights in July near SeaWorld).

One BIG problem is that our girls are already hotel snobs! :shock: They thought the rooms at Portofino Bay were small (and we had a deluxe room which was actually quite large!) I feel sorry for their future boyfriends/spouses! :mrgreen:

I made the very HUGE mistake in making mine and DW's honeymoon ressie at BWV 1bedroom.....then the next year we stayed at PO for the weekend after doing BCV.....don't think we will ever be back at a moderate again...what a spoiler;)

I too have to agree with you Alicia, those DVC rooms are real spoilers. We made a road trip to Indiana the beginning of June, and staying in single room hotels was a real nuisance! Thanks for the idea about the Residence Inns Tagrel, will have to explore that if/when we travel outside Disney again.
