Car Rental Deals

You would think that with all the discounts available that there would be some decent deals out there.

Has anyone come across any deals, discounts, codes, coupons, etc. that seem to offer a reasonable deal on a rental car?

I'm looking for anything with the agencies located at the Orlando Airport.

I've been to Mousesavers already.

The best deal I got this year was with Thrifty, which is off-airport but very close, only about a 5-minute shuttle bus away.

Using coupons from Sam's Club, I got a mid-size for 8 days for $176.59. I also have a $15 off coupon that I will present at time of rental, bringing my total for a mid-size down to $161.59. Now that's a DEAL!

I would have to say, just keep trying. I am notorious for booking at 3 or 4 rental companies and changing all the time. I finally settled last week for National with emerald aisle. We got a rate of $118.00 a week and with a regular discount, we got it for $104.00. But it was a check back every day kind of thing, for about 3 days it was telling me $199.00 a week, I called and talked to an agent to see if she could get me a better deal, but the best she could get was the same as what I found on the web. The next day I checked again and got the $118.00 rate with a discount. Never assume that the quote you get is it, you always need to check back constantly. Constant vigilance is the key.
