I got it last week and it is GREAT!! Very yummy recipes and a good variety. We were getting tired of the same old stuff and this has energized me again! Crab Cakes on a diet! WOW - I can't wait to try them! I would reccommend it for anyone as the recipes are healthy. For those of you on the SB plan it's great and each recipe says which phase it is approved for.

There are also some great shopping/label reading guidelines. For example, breads can be overwhelming - 9 grain, 5 grain, whole wheat, etc. It says to be sure it has a minimum of 3 grams of fiber per slice (and to be careful because some breads consider thier servings to be 2 slices). Also, if any kind of sugar is one of the first 3 ingredients - avoid it.

Anyway, if anyone if looking for a healthy variety of foods to cook, this is great.

Thanks! I'll look for the book. I need some inspiration for different meals.

Linda,

How complicated and time consuming are the recipes? My max is about 5 ingredients and 10 minutes prep time (and that is on a good day).

Thanks for the info!

:tink: Has anyone gotten Dr. Phil's wife, Robin's cookbook? She cuts alot of things out that are unhealthy but her food on the show looked delicious. I don't cook very often. I hope that once I'm settled into a job, paycheck, that I'll have a chance to cook again. If I have time I'd like to give it a go again. I used to cook when my kids lived w/us. Once they moved out, I really got out of it. I've been enjoying just the readying of my salads that I eat everyday & hope I enjoy cooking again someday.

Linda, there are definatley some recipes that are more than 5 ingredients and definately take more than 10 minutes, but some look much simplier. I enjoy cooking, but who has tons of time? I think that once I get the hang of some of the recipes that they wouldn't take so long. The ones I have done have a lot of different spices that I had to measure. Once I do them a few times, I'll skip the measureing and just toss them in.
I'm also planning to make extras and freeze that way I can justify the time to myself!
The other thing I found is that it inspired me to do different things with the meals I already cook (which are the quick ones!). Different spices and different ways to cook veggies.
If you're unsure you could check it out of the library for a few days and see what you think of the recipes (of course, if it were me, I wouldn't be able to actually TRY any of the recipes with a libray cook book because I make such a mess). LOL
