Good Morning All!
The "Red Hats" are coming for brunch today, so this will be short and sweet.
You are the only real obstacle in your path to a fulfilling life. This weekend, think about HOW you get in your own way. What's the ONE thing you need to start or stop doing in order to move forward? -- Kristin, Coach
Goals for the day
Get through it
don't do anything stupid

Hi BABES:
Linda: Are you joking? Sunny??? We're having monsoons here right now and we'll be leaving soon to drive up to Hershey!!!!
Going to make the most of it anyhow and I have backup plans. Since we're meeting later in the afternoon, if the sun comes out, we can make the evening entry into the Park for a lower rate OR we can just go to the park tomorrow after brunch meet. I also have the directions to the Hershey Outlets (that will make Sheryl happy!!!). We can even ride the trolley around town and see the sights and keep dry.
At any event, we'll get to meet and laugh and take pics and eat chocolate. What more can you want?
Goals:
Have a good time in Hershey!!!
Try not to eat too too much chocolate.
Will get exercise walking around.
Have a fantastic weekend all. Have a great time with the Red Hatter ladies Linda. We'll report back in tomorrow night.
Cinderella
(Here are some red hatters too!!!)

Hi everyone!
Cinderella, have a great time at Hershey!
Linda, good luck with today. I'm sure you won't do anything stupid. I just hope you have some fun.
I have my personal weigh in tomorrow, but I checked this morning since I missed last week. It's looking good. I've dropped 18 pounds since Easter. That's 1/2 way. I still have about 18 pounds to go. It is very intimidating to have to lose so much weight. At some points, its very encouraging because people are noticing the difference and I am fitting into more clothes. At some points, its very frustrating because I've been doing this for a good amount of time (with very little cheating) and still have no end in sight. . . DH tells me to take the goals slowly. If I don't lose any more weight, that's fine as long as I'm getting healthier. Oh, well. We'll all get there. Thanks for being here to be support.
Goals today:
Grocery for healthy foods
Exercise (mow the yard or go for a walk)
Canvas the neighborhood to deal with our fire ant problem.
Spend time with the family.
Oh, yesterday's exercise was belly dancing. Unbelievable, huh? DH bought me belly dancing for fitness videos so that I can exercise in the house when the weather is bad without my daughter's complaining. It was rather fun. My arms were quite tired.
Have a great day!

:tink: Morning  Healthinators on this glorious :sun: day!
Ursulinda, I love that quote & my response to that is that I have to start walking more. I was doing more than 4 miles in the office before by pedometer, not cardiovascular, but it was 4 miles, 5 days a week, which I've not done since I left there on 4/15. :walk: Oh and have fun with the redhatters. You're going to have to elaborate & let us know who them are & what they do. I do love the name.
LeiasMom, you're doing great! I don't know why you don't see an end in sight when you're half way to your goal girlfriend! Cut yourself some slack. You are getting there.
Claire, have fun w/everyone in Hershey! You may as well eat all the chocolate you want...you're there! Chocolate heaven. :angelBear:
Todays goals: :D
Eat smart :D
Get fluids in, this will be later in the day, as we're going to Marina Del Rey 8) today and DH is going to jam w/some musicians, so I'm going to the shops by the beach & maybe the beach. I have my sunblock on & it will be going w/me. Since traffic may get held up on the way there, only supposed to be a half hour drive, it's a beach day for alot of folks, I don't want to need the facilities  and not have any, so water later in the day. :winking:
:waving: Have a nice day everyone & we'll see you tomorrow or Monday! :tink:

Great afternoon Healthinators!
Ursulinda- That quote hit me! I need to get out of my own way and move forward. Thanks for the jolt! Enjoy your brunch with your friends. I have a nice purple pant suit and a tacky red hat, I just need to find a society to join.
Cinderella- You must be in Hershey having a great time by now. Please, please take a trip to Maine, I want to meet you too! Enjoy the company of some great folks, I wish I was there.
LeiasMom- You are doing so well, don't get discouraged. Focus on you goals and you'll get there. We have an ant problem here too. There are ant hills all over our lawn.
Tinkerbell- I hope you enjoy your day at Marina Del Rey. You are living in such a beautiful area. Take a trip to King's Canyon when you get a chance, it took my breath away.
Today I will
Eat healthy
Drink only water
Walk Away the Pounds
Plant window boxes and containers.
Have a great day everyone! I'll be thinking about the lucky Taginators visiting Hershey. Let's move forward!!!!!

For the first time in more than a year - the backyard has been mowed and weeded (since no one can see it but me as it is completely enclosed - I had been trying to let it be natural -- and I now have confirmation of why I am a MARINE biologist -- I HATE grass and weeds and plants and dirt - none of which (ok some grass is) are found in the marine environment!!!
I went to Target this morning to pick up a new "jog-proof" CD player (my old not so jog proof one disappeared after the Honda went bye bye) so I can listen to books on CD while running this next week in Annapolis - and they had some of their coolmax exercise clothing on sale - MAJOR sale. I got two coolmax tops - originally 14.99 each for $3.48!!! Too bad there weren't more in my size. I also picked up a new sports bra which could compete with a wonderbra for the push up job it's doing and two pairs of workout pants - not tights like I prefer - but pants - so looks like I need to get online at roadrunner sports.com and order some more tigths. There was a certain type of tights that I used to love - but Champs doesn't make (or sell them) anymore -- so looks like I will have to experiment until I find a good replacement.
After the trip to target - I decided to conquer the backyard in the Florida sun. Some sort of stickerbush vine weed had invaded (and I mean invaded) and needed to be cleaned up and the whole back yard needed to be knocked back a bit - so dressed in new coolmax running clothes (in a fruitless attempt to stay cool), walkman playing my running tape and with the leather hotair balloon chase gloves and weedwacker - I headed into the great wilds of my back yard (the same one that mom mentioned having snakes.... ewww!!). One hour, 22 minutes - 1 large trash can full of sticker thorny weedy vine and yes ONE Red and black SNAKE (thanks mom) later - the yard is done. I do know the snake was not venomous and I think I scared him as much (or more) than he scared me - he (it) did not hiss or nor attempt to defend - he hurriedly scurried (can snakes scurry? I thought sounded it better than slithered) away. He was 2 - 2.5 ft long - and I don't have my repitile field guide at the house to attempt and determine species (ok, I really don't care what species it was - just as long as it is the "Leave Terri alone species").
Six the kitty spent the entire time on the back porch - doing QA/QC on my work - probably thinking he was glad it wasn't him...
Now the plans are to get in the shower - DEGROSS as it were - begin to pack the suitcases for tomorrow and then make an attempt to go see HP3 (for those of you not up on the lingo - that is Harry Potter 3).
As for exercise today - I think the foray into the wilds of the backyard were enough! Tomorrow is my 7 mile run - and after last weeks not exactly done 6 miler (ok I bailed) it will be done - I plan to be out the door around 5 am to beat the heat. My flight does not leave until 520pm something - which means I will leave the house around 3pm - or earier since I think I have to swing by the office to pick up some things before I leave....

Eastern coral
Scarlett King

Here's a website to help you id.

Ursulinda - thanks for the site - but no yellow - so not one of those 3. He was red with a long black stripe on either side of him - down the entire length of his body. I DEFINATELY know he was not a coral snake (whew). Like I said - as long it continues to be of the "leave Terri alone" variety.

Looks more like a ribbon - or a garter - although I do not see a red/black one.
