Help me! I'm pretty sure I want to take the last day of a December trip and head over to Uni just so I can see The Mummy, their latest ride. It is billed as a dark ride/coaster combo. Is this a dream attraction or what?!

Uni calls it a psychological thrill ride and it is loaded with effects for an experience which lasts less than 3 minutes. If you want a thorough SPOILER of the ride, check out the link below:

Should I go? If I don't catch it in December, I won't see it until 2006 or later. I would hate to make Brendan Fraser have to wait that long to see me. What should I do?

I'm headed there myself in August, Moley. We always like to add a trip to Universal to our Florida/Disney vacations, if time allows.

If you want, you can wait for a first-hand review.

Or I can ask Brendan how disheartened he'd be if he missed you.

I certainly want to hear your reaction to this ride! :D

Moley, let me know when you go and I'll get you to the front of the line. You will love this ride. I've been on it around 40 times now.

Bev, how exciting! I do think I'll get front of the line privileges by staying overnight at a Uni hotel. However, I hope to see you down there regardless! Thanks for the way cool offer. I'll let you know when my day with Brendan is coming up! :D

Don't hesitate, book right away!

I always spend a day or two at Uni when I go to Orlando. Brendan isn't the only pleasant sight there; Helen Hunt can be found at Twister: Ride it Out, and Marylin Monroe can sometimes be seen wandering the streets in the company of the Marx Brothers.

There are also lots of great rides, shows, and attractions in both Uni parks.

Some people just don't "get" Uni. To me that's like those people who just don't "get" WDW; it's just crazy talk! Uni is different, to be sure, but it's plenty of fun and has pllenty of Magic: Movie Magic.

Go! Ride the movies and enjoy yourself.

Moley,

I hope you have better luck than us. We were there on May 22nd, the day after it opened, and it was closed due to technical difficulties. They announced it continuously over the loudspeaker as we were getting Elayna's annual pass. I was amazed at how angry some people were! I sure hope it doesn't become like Test Track with a lot of technical problems. I'll look forward to your review-I think our next Universal trip won't be until next May.

Uni has a lot more shutdowns than Disney does. You can pretty well count on something being down all the time, even when it isn't in rehab. Last time it was Twister for us. Kong was down a lot, so I guess the Mummy may be suffering the Wrath of Kong.

I was surprised today to have the California addition being highlighted in the movie theater. Very interesting both parks will have this attraction - although there is supposed to be some differences.

:gossip: I think I said this before but this attraction alone may get me into a Uni park. It is very, very tempting! As hard as it is for me to say - I think you should go for it!
