No Osborne Lights this year

The word is, there will be no Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights on display this December. It's not an official announcement yet, but the person spreading the word was very sure of her info, since she said it came directly from Jennings Osborne.

Evidently, the plan is to skip the display for this year and bring the lights back next year, only they will be displayed on New York Street at that time. All this is due to work being done to add a new Studios attraction.

I hope it's okay to post this, since there hasn't been anything official from Disney. I just wanted to give a heads-up to anyone planning a December trip.

Sure it's ok to post rumors! :wink: I have to admit I hope this one doesn't come into fruition though. I've never see Osbourn lights, and I was excited about getting to see them this year.

Oh, I'll be sad, too, if they don't have them this year! Coming from New England, most of my family isn't too thrilled with the idea of visiting a faux winter when we've just escaped the real thing, but there's something joyously tacky about the blinding display...and if only snow up here were soap bubbles, too! I love the lights because you can enjoy them in a way you can't enjoy Xmas at home...in shorts! Let's hope it's only temporary as you say (or not at all!) and I can get back to see them!

Drat, Drat and more Drat!
One of the things I wanted to see most was the Osborne Lights. I saw a TV show about how they came about and had them down as one of THE things we MUST do.

Please let this be a "rumor" and not fact. Keep us updated if anyone has any more official news.

I heard this rumor too! First the FTP comes out, now no Osborne lights. Boy, I'm really wishing now I had booked our trip for Oct. Although I'm sure as a first timer I will be so overwhelmed by everything I won't miss it to much.
