Good morning all - I managed to get to the fitness center in the hotel last night - 40 minutes on the elliptical - and that thing kicked my butt!!! My heart rate was about 150 for almost all of the workout!!!

We finished our work here in Ft. Lauderdale so I am headed home at 130 (they had earlier flights - but why would I want to be racing to the airport at 5am - just so I can go to the office??? It's not like I am headed to WDW or anything).

Todays goals -
Eat good
Drink water (esp since I am flying today and planes dehrydrate me)
Do laundry and clean house

It will be nice to have another day at home, esp since I have to leave Sunday afternoon to go to Annapolis, MD for a week.

GOod Morning Healthinators!!
I'm so glad you are here this morning! I was about to bail on my run for today (didn't get it in yesterday with a weather change after school) and now I feel like going out so this will be short so I can get out "while the spirit moves me". It's around 60 degrees here so it will be nice to run. I'll check in when I get back!1

Good Morning!

It's been a while since I've checked in. Things have been pretty hectic around here and I haven't been taking very good care of myself. I'm beginning to panic about the marathon, I know it's still 7 months away but if I don't start training very soon I will not be able to finish within the time allowed. Dd is home and promised to start walking with me in the evening, this should really help. I hope you are all doing well.

Goals for Today
64 oz water
2 mile walk
food journal

Have a great day!

I slept until 10:30AM today :deepSleep: which I really needed. Yesterday I had less than 3.5 hours sleep & got up at 4:30 AM & didn't go to bed until 12:30 AM  How did I even stay awake that long?

DrDolfin, you always exhaust me! HOW do yo do it? You have an unbeleivable pace. Have a nice day. I hope the flying doesn't get to you too much. You're right about sleeping later...no need to rush. :winking:

I've been up for an hour, I have 16 ounces of water in me & I ate my big salad w/my chicken in it. I did really good food-wise yesterday. I have to really pay attention to portion control & not fall into the cocky faze where you fool yourself thinking you got away with, say the HUGE bad of Lays potatoe chips I ate last w/e. I'm glad that they slapped me into reality again. I've made that mistake before. If yu think you can get away w/it, you fall back into horrible habits. I will not let that happen.

DH goes to Huntington Beach tonight for playing music w/some other musicians w/his experience that he's met through an advertisement in the paper. His ad. He wrote his age & style of music. He didn't want young people calling being disappointed that they were getting a guy that's 52 & actually knows how to play. They don't want that. Why learn all the cords when you can learn a couple & play that durgy, awful what they call music, but I call noise. It's an assault on your hearing. Anyhoo, he had a lawyer guy call him & they have a bunch of the same age, experienced guys that need a guitarist. So, I'm out this afternoon, so I won't see him until tomorrow once I leave at 12:30 PM.

Goals for today :D

Eat smart :D

Drink my water :D

Get a walk in when I get home. It's a nice 8) California day :sun: and it's always good for a walk.

Have to put some blonde color on my roots tonight. I don't know where those darker roots come from because I'm a natural blonde, really I am.

Have a nice day everyone. :D

Good afternoon Healthinators! :theWave:

Well, I actually drank all of my water already, so I feel like I've finally accomplished something. We've got alot to do, so dinner will be either BK or McD's. And I still have a goal to get to bed early, but last night I started watching a show on Lifetime and could not turn it off. I LOVE that channel!

Otherwise, keeping everything the same, but just wanted to check in and say "Hello  ". Hope you're all having a great day! :circle:

:mickeyWalk: Sheryl :minnie:

Wanted to add: Welcome back Faline, and don't worry. I've not walked that much as we've been so busy here. We will do it, but I did not want you to feel alone in that department. I'll be bringing up the tail end.

Hi BABES!

Glad so many of you are being so good and sticking to your goals. Some of us are not (but I won't mention any names but it rhymes with Cinderella!)

I just haven't been able to get back into a routine to allow enough sleep at night to help my muscles stop hurting.

DID get to the gym today so that was good.
AM drinking my water so that's good.
WATCHING breakfast and lunch - lite today - so that's good.
(four bite size Dove bars weren't good - well really they were delicious but not good for me!!!

Anyhow, I'm done with the nametags for Hershey - can't wait!!!!!!! Sheryl and I will finally meet after all these years! Get to see Dave and Kristen again (FW 12/03), and NancyBJ and family (12/03 Dole Whip) and get to meet Timon and family for first time and Pam and daughters for the first time. Just doing laundry and have to iron a few things to wear and we'll be set. Have hotel all set and easier directions up from here (speck over an hour).

Planting some annuals out front and a few in Bird Island. Sad news:
Miss Kim died - she's one of the new dwarf lilacs we planted out back. She didn't survive our visit to NY - guess she died of loneliness.

All other plants in Bird Island are doing great - butterfly bush is a beautiful purple flower, all day lillies are yellow and two of the hyssops have blue and red flowers and we still are getting more roses on each of the two bushes daily. Just put in some coleus and begonias for color too.
:flowers: :birds:

Well, I hope to get to sleep early tonight and tomorrow so I'm bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (?) for Hershey meet. I don't want them to think I"m acting my age (OLD!!).

Have a great day all and keep up the great work!!!!!

Hi all,
Back from my trip where I started off being really good and then had a few indiscretions. Not too bad overall though considering I was on vacation at WDW. I had planned on having a few things, so I didn't feel guilty at all. I think deciding to do that also made me stick to my plan more often than not.

It was great seeing my DD and she is looking great. She just keeps getting smaller and smaller. Even though technically she was working, she joined me at the hotel a few nights so she was on vacation too and had a few indiscretions too.

I bought a shirt on clearance at Walmart before I left and gave it to her and it fit great. Plus I brought her an old shirt of hers that fit her really good too. She doesn't get a lot of chances to go clothes shopping, so it was good to get some clothes that fit. She also "stole" a pair of sandals I bought recently so now I need to get a new pair.

This week back to being strict. No little indiscretions allowed now because it just isn't worth it to me.

Goals:
Stay focused

Good evening Healthinators! Where did the day go?

I did pretty well on my goals today. As soon as school gets out I will get into this full swing.

We made it to Boston to see my DS run the Corporate Challenge last night. He did great! He ran his own race and didn't worry about those around him and looked so relaxed. Some of the runners were really pushing and poured sweat. My DS hardly broke a sweat. He has done so much better keeping in shape since the 1/2 Marathon. Shame on me!

Faline- I was going to call you to see how you were doing. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to train. For now try to walk as much as possible to get your leg muscles in shape. PM me with a good time to call you.

See you all in the morning!

Wow! Good for him. Knowing how to pace :mickeyWalk: himself in a race is key. Congrats to him for all his focusing & positive outcome. :D

Hey guys! You all are doing so great. Way to go!

I was so-so today, but I'm not going to beat myself up. There's a reason for it.

I had the meeting where I had to present. I knew they would have snacks afterwards so I thought I'd skip my afternoon snack to have some fruit at the meeting. Well, bad idea. It wasn't over by 5 p.m. so at 4 I was getting a migraine. The presentation part went ok, btw. I grabbed a diet pepsi, a couple of strawberries (half dipped with chocolate), a couple of pieces of cheese, and a couple of sweets (bite sized cheesecake pieces). I needed the sugar jolt. I would have been much better with my oatmeal snack bar an hour earlier.

Tried to work a little after the meeting, but the migraine was in full force. Had to come home and take a hot bath. Feeling much better. Had 1 cup spaghetti with 1/2 cup sauce and a piece of whole wheat bread for supper. Hopefully, the transgression won't blow today.

Can't exercise today -- it would make my head hurt. I'll just go to bed early and start again tomorrow. It's the weekend soon.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Amy
