Hi BABES:

Just me, back from New YAWK after six days. I posted a hello in Catch All but might write a Non-Disney mini-report.

Just wanted to pop in early for tomorrow in case I get to sleep for a change and don't get to post until late.

Was VERY VERY bad the last six days (not all the days but the ones that were bad were very very bad!!!).

Visited friends first day to NY and had simple sandwich for lunch and she made some sort of mushy chicken for dinner with rice. Not bad. We were supposed to have quiet evening together and stay overnight with our own bathroom but, one daughter and five assorted grandchildren later, we were on line for the bathroom and ate in shifts. No sleep that night. Got up and left to head for our old hometown and visit stepson and his fiance. They cooked us a fantastic brunch (asparagus/shrimp cocktail, salad, eggs etc.). They were headed to work (posh restaurant in the Hamptons) so we then went on to visit other friends to view their SIX THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT HOUSE!! Omygosh!!!! It took us all afternoon to see every room. We played with their beautiful daughters, 6 and 3 (we are their surrogate grandparents) and ate dinner there (steak, deli coleslaw, a few pieces of old lettuce). We then left and headed up island to check into hotel for two days which was near the wedding we were attending. Was really good at the cocktail hour (miles of food) and at the dinner right after (steak, tiny potatoes, unedible veggies) but I had a piece of the chocolate cake topped with chocolate cherry sauce. Checked out of hotel the second morning and headed to brothers to visit and go with him and wife back to east end of Long Island to have dinner at restaurant where my stepson and fiance work - he's the Executive Chef in total charge of kitchen and meal planning and staff, and fiance who is the Pastry Chef.

OHMYGOSH!!!!!!!! The four of us were treated to a special dinner pepared by stepson. The waiter explained each dish before we ate and besides what we ordered, stepson sent out sample meals as well. We also had wines to "compliment" the meals and, of course, sorbet to freshen our palette before the next course. OHMYGOSH!!! The desserts were to die for. (check out mini-trip report tomorrow) prepared by his fiance. Needless to say, we tried it all - it was a once-in-a-lifetime meal.

If we had paid for it, we would have been out $756 for the four of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I was NOT good the last two days and tomorrow will see me at the gym and eating veeeeeeeery lightly from now on.

Have to get bloodwork next week before doctor's checkup and is he going to yell at both of us!!! I'm sure my cholesterol went up eating foie gras and caviar!!!!!!

Send encouragement!!!! I've fallen and can't get up!!!!!!!!!!

Cinderella, you deserve to splurge every once and a while. Who could pass up that meal?

Tinkerbell, glad you are back on track again as well!

We went to my in-laws for the weekend. It was my 30th birthday yesterday. Boy, oh boy did they try to sabotage me. I know they were being nice, but. . .

Walked in the house to 4 dozen donuts, a bag of oreos, and cheetos. Lovely DH hid the donuts he knew I'd want the worst. My daughter had told Granny that I needed "healthy snacks" for my birthday. They didn't have time to get any, so in order to prevent Leia from crying because I had nothing for my birthday, she put a few pieces of celery on a chocolate bunt cake (a serving size was 1/30 of the cake :-0 ). I had a Slimfast meal bar instead. . .

Walked over 3 miles every day of the weekend. I stuck to my diet, too. I let myself have some normally forbidden foods, but I cut calories elsewhere. So, overall, it was fine. I have to go out with my mom tomorrow for my birthday celebration. If I can be good for that, I'll be quite happy.

Missed my weigh in yesterday. Need to do it tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

Talk to you all tomorrow!

After some minor snacking this weekend (believe me, with all the events and all the foods, it was very tough to be good this weekend), I'm ready to resume my goals.

• Increase my water
• Get to the gym
• Increase my walking
• Continue daily exercise

Another late check in for me, but I've almost got my 72 ounces of water in. I don't know why, but sometimes I really struggle with the water especially on the weekends. In need of getting a good nights sleep tonight, then all should be good here. I enjoyed meeting with Barbara and Linda so much yesterday, and can't wait to meet Claire, Pam, Dave, Nancy BJ, and Timon this weekend.

Todays goals:
drink more water
eat somewhat good
get laundry done
get to bed early

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :circle:

I'm late, I'm late! Dayyyys late! But despite the Neopets@McDonald's thing, I'm doing pretty good. Spent a long time at the pool on Sunday and was just tickled at how my stamina has improved.

I'll post earlier and in a more goal-oriented way tomorrow!

I guess I get the late bird prize today!! I traveled to Ft. Lauderdale today for a seagrass survey in the morning. Here is the day in recap - 7am training session with Mike at the gym - we had me workout in the "back" - big warehouse-like space behind the ACed office and cardio area, in the sandbox (imagine a big square sand box with sand 1-1.5 feet deep and contained in a box with rails 4 ft high). I ran 4 laps a minute and watched my heart rate skyrocket - after 2 sets I was at 160 after 4 I was at 167 - which is my "YUCK" factor - or to be more scientific about it - the moment I want to start wretching and throwing up... supposedly this is the point that my body can't buffer lactate any more (huh? - and I am a biologist - back to the biochem book - I have to find the biochem book). I managed to do all 10 reps - but the last two I felt like I was crawling - but the heart rate said otherwise. Then on to weights and lunges - why oh why does Mike insist that I do lunges after I run?? I was still feeling nasty and a couple of times felt queasy and just plain yuck. At this point, Mike decided to take me to the AC area to do some bench press on the physioball and abs. I survived. Went to work - had 3 meetings and got vert little done at my desk. 12:30pm - Headed to the airport to catch my plane to Ft. Lauderdale - which ended up being more than 45 minutes late leaving cause of really bad rain (we need it so bad - not complaining) and lightening.

Got here an hour late, got the rental car, got to the hotel, checked in - and went to red lobster for dinner. Did basically ok with the exception of the five (yes that was 5) cheddar bay biscuits - that I am positive have as many calories in each of them as a krispy kreme donut!! Got back here around 830 and instead of just vegging and watching tv - I opted to get dressed in my workout clothes and go to the fitness center for 2 miles of walking on the treadmill.

Mel (head of the training program I am in) has written a "while you are away" program for me - since I won't be there for the next 2 weeks due to travel!!!! I am determined not to screw this up and gain back all the weight I've lost!!!

Ok - just wanted to check in and now heading to bed.

Goals for tomorrow:
30 minutes on treadmill, running and keeping heart rate between 140-150 bpm
eat good breakfast, lunch and dinner
wear hat and SUNSCREEN to avoid sunburn at all costs!!
