Happy Memorial Day all!! :theWave:
I thought I was really, really late, but am the first to post today, so I am surprised. I hope you all are enjoying this day.
I had the pleasure of meeting with Pixie (and her family) and Snickerdoodlesmommy (Linda and her family) this morning at Krispy Kreme's. As you know, Linda lives only 3 minutes from me, but this was only the second time I was able to meet with Barbara. When you meet Barbara, she radiates beauty inside and out! And, Cosmic Amanda is just as adorable as I expected she would be. It was such a joy for me to meet with everyone today and if you ever have the chance to meet anyone, please do.
I'm really looking forward to doing the 1/2 marathon with Barbara his January, and it was so nice to meet her family also. I jsut know we will have a wonderful time then.
Terry and Keith ended up leaving the race yesterday after the first red flag for rain. He said there were warnings on the signs regarding the storm's and tornado warnings. Then, someone walked around telling the sections that they would not be able to get the track cleaned off in time and the race would probably be postponed until Monday (many of the folks left). So after much discussion between them, they decided it was best to get on the road and head for home.
And are we ever glad they did since they had a 7 hour drive ahead of them and they had very little sleep. Keith found someone's cell phone right next to our car, so he picked it up and called the home number on it. Apparently, the wife was home and her Dh lost the phone and his car keys at the race. Keith talked to the guy this morning (so he can return the phone to them), and the guy said he stayed to the end, but was sorry he did. He told Keith it was the worst weather he had ever driven in, so the guys were glad with their decision to get home. Even though they did not see the finish of the race, they had a great time with all the other things they got to do there.
So, my week has started of great, and I'm hoping the rest is as smooth and fun. Have a great week everyone! :circle:
