Hi everyone : )

Has anyone eaten at Bomas? How was it? Many choices?
Good scrumptious stuff you loved - what to stay away from : )

Atmosphere - do you feel "almost" in Africa - music playing - servers dressed in costume ?

African Beers/drinks etc?

Thanks bunches : )

we always try to eat at Boma at least once each trip.
Its richards favorite place to eat at WDW.
No, I dont feel like Im in africa, although the theming is excellent. The food choices are extremely varied, and apart from the deserts (Zebra domes!) and the coconut pudding thing, I dont think we have ever seen the same things twice.

There are lots of unusual flavours together, lots of delicious salads and vegetable dishes.. infact it is all etremely delicious, but unusual. However it is not so unusual that its not likeable.

I is an experience, and certainly the best buffet meal that we have been to on disney property. Its one of those places you just wish you didnt get so full at, as you keep wanting to try more, but you have no room left! ;)

dont know about beers etc as we dont drink often.

We have only had breakfast at Boma, so I can't comment on the dinner selections. However it's too open and big to feel "African" to me. The decor is very nice--check out the domed "thatched" ceiling! They have imported beers and wines on display at the front desk so I'm sure they have a nice selection.

Boma and Jiko are some of the best restaurants on property!

I am in the minority here. :hiding: We ate at Boma's last summer and didn't really enjoy it. Both Ken and I found ourselves eating off the kiddie island. Mac and Cheese and chicken fingers. The one good thing, was the zebra Dome, a delish dessert. Give it a try if for nothing else than to say you have.

We really enjoy Bomas - have eaten there several times - breakfast and dinner. I love the soups, if they have the ribs - and you like ribs - you got to try these. I like the corn mush thingy, the veggies are ok, desserts are wonderful! Also the specialy drinks are good - have tried several - never had one I didn't like! I am fairly adventuresome in trying new foods - I would suggest when eating at Bomas - just take a small taste on your plate and go back and get what you like the second time around!

Bomas and Jiko are must do's on the list for us!

I recommend the same thing. I'm somewhat of a picky eater, but I take a fork full or two of whatever I want to try, then go back and get more of what I liked. The last time there was only one meat in a sauce that didn't particularly like of all the things I tried.

After sampling, I go back and get more of what I enjoyed.

I LOVE Boma's and despite my being extremely cheap (ooops, I mean frugal), I eat there almost every single trip.

I don't consider myself overly adventurous, but I do as BetsyAnn and Robin suggest and just try a small bite. Even when on a diet, I've found plenty of scrumptious food they eat and they have a great selection of fruit.

Shell,

We've eaten at Boma's for both breakfast and dinner and loved it every time. Terry is somewhat a boring person (meaning does not go to far from the usual foods) when it comes to food, and he really loved it. They had a pulled pork that he absolutely loved, and that night the prime rib just melted in your mouth, it was so good. I do think if you are adventurous with food, you would love it.

And you got great advice regarding trying a little and if you like it, go back for more.

Enjoy!

Our family thought it was just "okay". We certainly found a few foods we liked, but there were also many that didn't appeal to any of us.

The soups were wonderful, though!

I doubt we'd go back. There are too many other places we really love at WDW to go back to one that didn't thrill us.

Here's a picture of the famous "Zebra Domes"at Boma from Deb Will's site.

We love Boma's...in fact it's our 8yo's favorite restaurant.

The Moroccan Seafood Stew is the BEST and all the different flavors of hummus are great!

One thing to caution you: a lot of the food is sort of spicy...what I would call "having a kick to it." All four of us love spicy food so we are cool with that, but for people who aren't big on spice it can probably be a little overwhelming.

We only went once and thought it was blah. It always smells so wonderful, and we were quite surprised with how boring we found it. There were only few things that we tried that we didn't like at all and wouldn't eat. But the problem was all the rest just tasted blah. We were looking forward to the pumpkin soup but they had some others the day we were there. I don't remember if we tried both but we did have one that we didn't like at all. The prime rib may have been great but we didn't have that - we were looking for different tasting things not prime rib.

I don't remember who it is, but someone said it tasted to them like cinnamon had exploded in the kitchen. Personally I would have been happier if that had happened because then there would have been some flavor.

Some day I will probably give it another try because it does smell so good, but I'll make sure they at least have the pumpkin soup that day.
