I've been reading rumors that Annual Passes that are renewed after August 2, 2009 will have an extended validation period of 15 months as opposed to 12 months.

I guess tomorrow will tell if the rumor comes into fruition or not. There is a $20 increase in the price of the AP's but I will say, if this is true, I think Disney might be throwing AP holders a very small bone.

 The story of my life!!!

All I can say is &!#^!#%@#^ if that happens since I debated long and hard about what to do about my AP that expired yesterday and I finally decided to renew to avoid the price increase!!! Can't I ever get a break??? :cry:I went to WDW last year for my birthday for the first time and they started offering the birthday perk this year. I feel like Ziggy and Charlie Brown rolled into one.

What a Happy Birthday from Disney...

This will be fantastic for us if it pans out. It would mean Ken could buy an AP for our trip in Aug of this year and use it next year for Tag fest next year.

Fingers crossed that this one is true!

This is a "copy and paste" from another website where they had also done the same thing so it might be what LGC was reading. Hope it works out for those who will be renewing soon or just did so.

Effective Sunday August 2, 2009 there is a change in policy concerning renewal of certain Annual Passes.

This change applies to: Tourist Premium Annual Pass, Tourist Annual Pass, Florida Resident Premium Annual Pass, Florida Resident Annual Pass, and Florida Resident Seasonal Pass.

This change specifically does not apply to Epcot After 4:00 Annual Pass, Water Parks Annual Pass, or Disney Quest Annual Pass.

The notice did not say anything about the DVC Member AP or PAP or the Charter AP or PAP.

Effective August 2, 2009 renewals within 30 days before or after the expiration date will receive an additional three months and will be valid for 15 months from the expiration date of the current Pass.

Renewal Exchange Vouchers sold prior to August 2, 2009 may be redeemed with this offer provided the renewal is occurring August 2, 2009 or later.

There was no indication in the notice of an expiration date of this policy, but there was the standard disclaimer of "Offer dates are subject to change without notice".

WOW, we have our three certificates and will not be exchanging them for the AP until Sept. 27. I hope that will apply to us as they are not renewal, but new.
