I know we tlaked this over and WillCad had some wonderful advice and Im sure its somewhere anyway I need someone to walk me through this anyway. Be gentle Im just an icon clicker and dont know how it works ok.

My daughter will be with us this summer on our trip and she is in college with some on line courses. We are staying at Shades of Green which I found out has Web TV but not too sure it would work because the school requires certain cnditions to hook up including XP and Im sure a secure connection.

We have a lap top with WiFy and a modem so she can work on it she just needs to figure out sending. Our local internet is Comcast Cable so I dont know anything about dialing up stuff. Also we have XP on teh lap top too.

So what should I tell her is avaliable for her to send school work in to the school with? Anyone understand this enough to walk me through it all?

Thanks

Barb

Perhaps, if you moved this up to Technical Difficulties, the nice people there could give you some advice.

Netzero is a free internet dial-up service. They allow something like 10 hours a month for free. look them up at www.netzero.com
You could use netzero just for your trip to access the internet on.

Also, if your laptop has a network card (looks like a modem but with a bigger plug), and if SOG has highspeed internet access, you would be good to go. The nice thing about Windows XP is that with the internet, under most circumstances, it is plug and play.

Hope this helps...

Barb, I would have DD check with her On-line tech folks and see if connecting through Web TV is an option; it will be much faster than using dial-up service through the resort phone system. The ideal configuration would be that SoG has the broadband installed in the rooms the way WL is wired. I don't see any note about it being avbailable on their web site but with the major re-hab they have done there, it's possible. You might give them a call and see.
