Do you go back to your resort midday to rest and/or swim? If so what time do you head back and generally how long do you stay?

If it is Summer and/or very Hot, we often go back to the resort for some swimming and sun time. The time we leave usually depends on how crowded the parks have become by noon-ish. We tour for 3-4 hours, go back to the resort for 2-3 hours, then head back into a different park in the evening. Last week, we were very suprised at how crowded the parks were. We stayed from about 9-1, swam from 2-4, then headed back into a park by 5. This worked out especially well because of the EMH in the evening, when MK and MGM were opened till midnight. We didn't feel like we were "wasting" time in the parks by swimming when the parks were only open until 8 or 9.

In the cooler months (Decemberish), we don't normally go back to the resort. We sleep in a bit, get breakfast (probably at Boatwrights at POR... MMMM), then head in to the parks around 10 or 11. We stay all day, since they are not opened as late and close around 7 sometimes. Then we head in to Downtown Disney or use the hottub.

We like heading back around 11:30am. Have lunch in the room or non park restaurants. We like to swim, shop or visit other resorts.

Depending on where dinner will be we head back around 6:30pm.

I picked sopmetimes because it all depends on how long we are there. If we have two weeks to take our time and relax, then yes we do go back to the resort to relax and swim. As far as time wise, it really all depends on how our morning goes, and when we are ready to head back.

We are NOT command at all, and tend to prefer Moley's lazy butt touring style. So tehrefore a REST is always good for us!

I NEVER stay in one park all day. I have to move around. I don't always go back to my room, but I always leave the park in the afternoon. I would say 80% of the time I at least stop at my hotel for a little while. The other 30% I go somewhere else ;-)

We leave about 11:30 or noon (depending where we eat). It depends which park we are going to when we go back. In January the parks close very early so if we are going to a place other than EPCOT we go back around 3pm. We never go back to the same park am and pm. On our last day we start in the MK, leave and do any last minute things in EPCOT, and end the trip back at the MK.

When we're there for just the weekend, we want to put as much Disney into our day as possible so we stay in the parks all day.
The times we stay 3 or more days, we usually take a break and we always go back to the resort for either a nap or a swim.

:shock:I have to be physically dragged out of the park in order to go to the room for a break!!

I very rarely go back to the room unless I am touring with people that are less commando than I am (Ok, that's everyone ). It almost physically hurts me to be messing around in the room or in the pool when I could be in a park. However, I always go in off season when the parks close early, so it's sort of a waste to go back to the room from noon to 3:00 when the park closes at 5 or 6.

And I have to be physically dragged out of the pool in order to go back to the parks in the late afternoon!!

Well, someone has to balance out you high-energy commandos. Might as well be me. 8)

I picked sometimes, but it is more rarely than sometimes. I don't necessarily stay in the parks all day but I'll be roaming someplace. Even though I'm a nap lover by nature, I have a hard time with that concept at a hotel room at WDW. I prefer to take naps on the go - at an attraction or in a nice comfortable chair, couch, bench, or whatever. I do enjoy taking breaks at the pool though, but not usually in the middle of the day.

For some reason at I have no problem leaving WDW to take a nap or get out of the heat/crowds - But I understand AmyA to be physically pained to leave Disneyland - ;)

I won't go back to my resort but I will go to the Afternoon Tea at the GF in the afternoon or have lunch at the Poly - that type of thing but to just go back to where I'm staying and swim or go to the room for a rest - nope - I keep going and going and going lol - ask Susan :)

Pre-parenthood I would have never taken an afternoon break, but would often switch to a water park in the PM. As I've gotten older I'm much more of a lazy butt tourer and often take afternoon breaks at the hotel. Not necessarily every day, but probably about half the time. Now that we're DVC members and have been going every year, it just doesn't seem as necessary to spend every waking moment in the parks. It's nice to actually have it feel like a vacation.
