This was reported on the news, but has not being confirm.
There was an email that came from a representative from Florida Hospital stating the first case of Swine Flu has be diagnosed in Orlando. The patient is a WDW tourist from Mexico.
That's the email the news station received.
The original response from FH was that they had no record of anyone with Swine Flu and that they don't have the necessary testing facilities to make a confirmation of Swine Flu. (Note: I can't believe every case of Swine Flu needs to go the CDC to be diagnosed. How long does it take to be diagnosed and how many cases can the CDC handle?)
While Florida Hospital is the flagship medical center of it's hospital network, I would expect anyone who is sick to be taken to Celebration Hospital, which is there closest to Disney.
Disney has stated they have no knowledge of the situation. Unless Disney was directly involved with sending the person to the hospital, I don't know how they would know. Additionally, the person could have been taken to the hospital while still on route to Disney.
I'm waiting to here clarification of the story. Until it's confirmed, I would take this as just a rumor. Theme parks have been put on alert to what for anyone who appears to be sick.
On personal vent, anyone who knowingly comes to the resort and parks when they know they are sick and could be contagious (beyond the common cold) deserves to be sent to the hospital to be checked for any serious infections. One person's selfishness can put another person's life in jeopardy.
