For all you cruisers out there. How do you decide? Do you need a lot of excusions, or just a few. Do you try something you have never done before or something that interests you?

We have decided to go on excursions based on things that look fun in the descriptions and that the entire family (myself, DD and hubby) can do together. The other factor for us is my MS. We would love to do the harder ones at Cozumel but I can't do that much walking. We talked about spliting up but decided we wanted to be together.

We aren't going on an excursion in Key West but will go on our own because, for pete's sake it is still in the US! We think we can handle that one ;)

I can't wait to hear how others choose.

I'm trying to decide now. Well under our 60 day mark, and I should have them booked already, but I don't!

With the girls in tow, we are taking it pretty easy I think. We might do a beach excursion to St. John, and maybe a snorkel tour on St Martin. I've been reading trip reports to see what others have tried and looking for opinions, etc. I also try to find a website for the island in question and search out different tours that aren't 'official' cruise excursions. They are typically just as good, but not as expensive.

Well, the biggest limiting factor is that I'm trying to pick things that 6 year old DS and I can do together. That eliminates anything with an age restriction and any sort of swimming ability like snorkeling. Most likely we'll do one of the schooner tours in Key West, a submarine or glass bottom boat ride, and probably some sort of bus tour that gets into the history of the area (we both like history). If we do beaches it will most likely be on our own.
