Disney's Animal Kingdom!!! How do you beat the heat in the hottest park of all? And remember, you can only choose :winking: one.

Arrive at opening, and leave by afternoon!

Actually, the AK is the worst because there are SO few choices of attractions where you can actually keep cool. Even many of the stores are 'open air' and not very cool... Pizzafari is pretty cool inside... :)

Kali is the obvious answer, but we find we are TWICE as uncomfortable AFTER riding because of walking around wet in humid weather. Dinosaur comes to mind, but its either been in rehab - or the girls were too afraid to go on it anyway the last few years... Until I get to go to try out the new Air conditioned Festival of the Lion King I'm going to go with Bug's Life. At least the theatre is air conditioned. Heat is the number one reason that we most likely will skip the AK this year. :(

easy--for those of blessed with the smaller kids--the baby care center is by far the best place!!

Hanging out in the Boneyard for awhile with the giant fans works for me. An hourly ride on Dinosaur also works.

IS there a way to cool off in AK????

I found that while the newly enclosed FOTL was cooler, it wasn't really cool. I guess it's just too many people in one place to get the temp to a really comfortable level.

We never stay at AK too long. I can't listen to my DH complain that much. ("it's too hot here"..."why do they make you walk the long way?"...." I HATE this park!", etc) Well, all right....I admit it...I complain there too.

ITTBAG is cooler than outside, but it doesn't really cool me off for some reason either.

Going to RFC for a long lunch is refreshing. Does that count?

If not, I guess the only really good way for us to cool off in AK, is to leave. :D

You CAN'T beat the heat at AK. It's too pervasive, even in December.

The best I can manage most times is to visit the dining room at Tusker House, which is air-conditioned and fairly comfortable.

My best suggestion on this park - to eat an ice cream and then head for the Safari - I don't think it makes it any cooler but heck you just had some ice cream - so you're happy!

THe ONE attractions that we would choose to cool off is DINOSAUR! It has a great (air conditioned) line!

If not an attraction - we find the various misters (there's a big one just as you arrive in Harambe on the right) that is fun to just stand under for a while. :)

For AK I usually apply the; arrive early and get everything done then go on Kali River Rapids and get on the air conditioned bus method of cooling off. Which works wonders if you get an air conditioned bus.

easy to beat the heat at AKL.... live in Ga and work outside.... seriously we usually go in December and haven't noticed a problem then. We went in May a few years back and it did get hot in ALL the parks by the time we left
