:? :? :? :? :?
I am very confused. Both DH and I agree that we should buy DVC at Beach club. We love Disney, we visit several times a year. We just sat through the sales presentation in April. We (thankfully) can afford it.
But, I just am having a hard time saying yes. And I am the Disney nut in the family. I am losing touch with my Disney side????
Help! Tell me why this is so wonderful and worth it.
We are family of 8, we all love Disney and to travel. Help me make that final mile. DH and I have agreed that we will call our DVC rep on June 11
and make arrangements to sign all papperwork on our upcoming trip.
I can't believe I am hesitating. help!!!!

Your rates never go up...(all other rsorts are going up in price every year ) and you can stay at a deluxe for the price of a moderate. If you are going on vacation at least every other year and can spend your time at one of the Dis DVC properties..it is a good thing, of course you must be able to plan ahead for it to work well. If all else fails you can rent your points out and cover the cost. If you like, send me your phone number and I will call you on my out going watts line and help alleviate your fears...AND BTW...tell them Steve Haygood sent you :):) that way I get some Disney Dollars as a bonus

Ana Maria,

I think we all get those last minute "jitters". Since you are able to afford it, and you have a large family, I think it is ideal! The proximity of Stormalong Bay will be great. Having a full kitchen to be able to prepare meals and snacks is great, and having a FREE washer/dryer in your unit is the best!

The children's activities are abundant for DVC members and there's nothing like hearing "Welcome Home".

Welcome to the site! I've missed you!

As to DVC - it took me years (and one visit to a display model!) to convince the DW. Now she looks forward to it as much as I do.

For the family size alone I think it is a great idea! Those 2 bedroom units are huge, and as Esmerelda pointed out the Kitchen, washer/dryer, etc are just wonderful. We just LOVE staying DVC.

We stayed at the GF over Christmas, and ALL we could think of was that we couldn't wait to be back in a one bedroom unit again! The GF was beautiful, but the luxury of DVC beat it hands down.

Its a tough decision, but if the money isn't an issue, and you visit Disney at least once every other year and enjoy staying moderate or above, its a great choice. As the rack rates rise, so do the discounts available. And if the economy turns around, you will save your money back even faster as the discounts become harder to get.

The ability to stay at other DVC resorts is wonderful. We are switching three times in two weeks. VWL to be close to MK, BCV to be close to Epcot and MGM, and a few days of Rest and Relaxation at Vero Beach in the middle. And NO BILL upon checkout! ;)

Next year we cruise - and whether you use points for the cruise, or sell them and pay for it with cash (my choice) its a great option. We hope to try Disneyland sometime, and might even trade out for a Hawaii stay sometime. SO many options!

Just a few of our reasons, and we don't regret it for even one second! I'd love to get even more points, but for now - we have enough to have some fantastic vacations!

Anna Maria, I can't add any different words to those that Tagrel so eloquently put here, so I will just echo everything he said. Our Home Resort is the OKW, and we absolutely love it there. The difference in having a suite to come home to at the end of the day instead of a studio sized room, or rooms in your case, I think would be a real plus. We have no regrets for buying into the Club, and are really looking forward to andother 40 years of vacations.

when the rain wasn't a trickle or a shower, it was a deluge. There were wall to wall people in every available public space in Wilderness lodge - the cost of having ones own living room on such a day, with a kitchen and a can of soup? PRICELESS! if you're still having regrets 5 years down the road you can always sell it - my guess is - by then, you'll have bought more points!

When we joined 11 years ago, our three were 11, 10 and 7 years old. Fast forward, we're now in the middle of the college years, and all 3 have gone to Catholic HS which meant writing a monthly check.

If we hadn't joined, we never, ever could afford to lay out the cash for the vacations that we go on and pay for tuition as well.

You won't be sorry when you join. Not only do we have the original OKW membership, we added on at VWL as well.

While the initial purchase is a sizeable investment, you can't put a price tag on the memories that you'll create.

Simply put... if not for DVC, we would not be able to go to WDW.

Part of it the paying forward for vacations... but the main reason we bought DVC on our first ever trip to WDW, was because we could see how the accomodations would in the future allow us to go!

Having all the amenities of home, right there IN the Magic, is just the best! And for us, it is critical.

If not for DVC, there is no comfortable way we could plan to take my Mom like we are in December. That, and knowing that we have our accomodations pre-paid for as well, makes any future trips affordable.

Also, compared to just about any other timeshare out there, it's hard to beat DVC, if on resale value alone.

It's still one of the best decisions we've ever made...

Hello, Ana.
You will love DVC. I would only have one hesitation about your plans...With a Family of 8, have you considered a resale at OKW? I ask because when we toured the BCV 2 bedroom in December I felt it was quite small. I love the location and decor, but it seems really small for 8.
Just a thought.
