View Full Version : Too Early for Meet Planning? UPDATE IN OP!

There's been a bit of talk bandied about regarding meets for Tagomania on the MouseFest forum, so I'm kind of wondering if maybe we should start putting some plans in motion.

MyBob and I can do a mini-meet at Test Track - we can take small groups of people to the VIP Lounge there, but no more than 10 or 12 at a time. We could probably do this a couple of times, but we're restricted to Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. This is a GM business office, and the Lounge is made available to GM employees/retirees who are visiting the parks.

The way it works is: we enter TT through a special entrance, completely bypassing the queue altogether. We show our ID, and go up in an elevator to the VIP Lounge. The Lounge has windows overlooking part of the inside of the ride, and a fantastic panorama of Future World (great photo ops!). When we're ready, we get a special "front of the line" pass from the secretary, and take another elevator down to the boarding area, and ride away!

As I mentioned, we can probably do this a couple of times, maybe more. If anyone's interested, let me know, I'll start a sign-up list. The first 22 who are interested will be going up with us...I'll also have a standby list, so don't despair.... ;)

UPDATE: WE'RE WORKING ON A PLAN TO TAKE EVEN MORE PEOPLE UP TO THE VIP LOUNGE, SO STAY TUNED! :D

I am certainly interested in this. I also would love to see the Toy Story Mania aka Tagomania back again this year. I had an absolute blast and I don't think I will ever forget having so much fun in line with 57 of my closest Tag friends.

Crystal and I would love to this, as long as it does not occur the same time as any official meets....sign us up please

Carol, you forgot to mention that the GM Lounge has some very nice, clean bathrooms, and they also serve fountain drinks, water, and coffee.

Here I am showing off the GM Lounge ladies room.

We've taken many of our Tagrel friends up there with us, usually it's on our marathon trips. Not a real lot up there, but the view of Epcot is very nice.

Why thank you Tacey. Here's another one of a sitting area in front of the glass windows.

Unfortunately, we discovered in December that the fountain drinks, coffee, and tea are no longer available (the notice blamed it on the economy), which is why I didn't mention it. The restrooms, on the other hand, are very nice and extremely clean!

Oh no, that's too bad. :( Well, I apologize for mentioning them, it was always a nice perk. Still a great lounge, and you cannot beat that skipping to the front of the line.:)

Sounds like a great time and I'd love to see the lounge area. I know the girls would love to see it too, but I'm not positive if they are coming yet or not... Got room for 4 more? - time dependent of course...

Carol,
Great Idea!!

Could I help out??

Paul's Dad copied his card, wrote a note giving his permission for us to ride in his absence. We used it several times between Christmas and New Year's. JustZac and his friends joined us on New Year's Eve.

In fact, Dad even said he might be interested to come to EPCOT with us next time and Check out the Lounge and the ride!!! LOL!! He turned 84 yesterday!!

ANYWAY... I can also take a group of ten if you want the help.

That would be great! I didn't know that you'd be able to get away from school.

Thank you for this offer! I would like to get on the list. And depending on the day, perhaps my friend Sharon. She will be coming down later on Friday, so only available Sat, Sun or Mon.
