Good morning Healthinators!

I am up and moving today with a job in the Special Ed unit I was previously in. The teacher has IEP meetings with parents all day so she is in the building but I am in the classroom with the kids. It should go pretty easy since I already know the routine. Then one more day of subbing tomorrow and new job on Thursday. :D

I've been having computer problems and I am hoping Jeremy and I can fix those today. I am on his right now. So I need to get that done and I also need to do grocery shopping, which I was too tired to do last night. I hate to have to go after school but if I don't go now it will never get done!

Goals:
1. Water.
2. Don't snack.
3. Fill out new hire paperwork/read handbook.
4. Make 1-2 more PS's.
5. Laundry (didn't get this done yesterday either!)
6. Grocery shopping.

Have a great day everyone!!

JennyAnne,

Anyone that thinks working with special ed kids is easy, has my respect!

OK, I will do my best today to:

1. Drink water (I've reached 64 oz. three days in a row)
2. Call and get info about the new Curves program that has opened nearby my house.
3. Eat sensibly. Remember the goodies at the end of the year dance party are for the kids, not me.

I do have one thing to brag about though! I went to this most wonderful bakery yesterday to choose what we would take today and I didn't get a single thing! Went straight to McDonald's and got my salad, bottled water, and stepometer.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Healthinators!!!
Great going Esmerelda    the backery is the hardest thing for me (I just avoid them like the plague).
JennyAnne-Have fun today special ed kids are a challange but also a great reward

Today I am going to camp- I will be leading hikes and crafts (no cooking darn it) for Ft Waynes "inner city kids" for a special in school scouting program run by our local boy and girl scouts. It's always an intresting day the kids really get into the "camp lore" about trolls under bridges ect (it's amazing how quiet you can be on a wooden foot bridge if you don't want to wake up the troll  ) . After camp I think (hope) I have time for a quick trip to the Disney Store in the mall before my 2 o'clock appointment for pheresis. Tonight is GS award night at the other school in our cluster so co-leader and I will attend to hand out adult awards to those leaders. It is also DS's 23rd birthday today HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWN!! He's home and asleep on the couch at the moment but I'm not sure he'll be awake before I leave. I still have to wrap his gift and sign cards ect. (I have all the ingredients for his favorite meal and will leave a note that if he wished he can make it before he leaves or I'll do it tomorrow.)

Goals for today:
Walk the legs off those kids so they go home tired
Eat smart- no choice if I only pack a salad for lunch
Water- maybe a little harder today- as I have to be hooked up to pheresis machine for about 90 minutes this afternoon
No run or Curves after pheresis
Deals at the Disney Store (hopefully)
A job for Friday (wed and Thurs are taken care of)
SMile it's Magical Day

Good Morning to you all!!

This week at school is another spirit week. They do it twice a year and every day is a special dress up day. Yesterday was Luau day and today is out of character day, which means you are supposed to dress up in a personality that you are NOT. One of my friends is going to be a ners, one a jock, and two of us (me) are going in as "dirt bags" (thats what we used to call them in high school). I'm wearing my jeans, an old tshirt with something rolled in the sleeve, a bandana around my head.

Tonight we have soccer practice so my plan is to walk while Zach has practice. Yesterday I did 10.32 miles and today I really want to break the 13 mile point.

Goals:
drink water
make healthy choices
walk
get something done around here

Jenny, Your trip is almost here!! You must be getting so excited.

Esmerelda, Good job on the bakery. I know I could NOT have been that good. Now get that stepometer on and lets see what your walking.

Bookwood, As always your post tire me out. You are so youthful, it does not seem possible that you ahve a 23 year old child. Tell Shawn Happy Birthday!!

Cheri, Girlfriend, did I ever tell you I want to be a part of your family? You've got another trip planned!! You are one lucky lady. Hang in there, sometimes its all we can do.

I hope you all have an awesome day! :circle:

Sheryl, you can be a part of our family. And I have to say, these trips are only possible due to the new carpet fiasco that I went thru for 6 months! It's a looooooong story, but In the end, it's worth all of it. :D

Good Lazy Morning!
It's my day off - YEA! I need some down time to recharge. It's sunny and in the 60's today. I think I'll enjoy the day and maybe do a little laundary. I do have a recital to direct tonight for my rec department class but that's fun work.

Todays Goals:
Drink 86 oz of water. Wasn't even close yesterday. To busy.
Eat healthy on SBD. Refocus on the basics.

Have a magical day!

:tink: Morning Healthinators. :D Off to a slow Tuesday. I made follow-up calls yesterday on some of my resumes sent out last week, have to call some back again today. Have to work on cover letters today and get out more resumes tomorrow. It's another scorcher here today but we like it. :D Good thing.

California could use some PD secondary to fires over 4000 acres & several other areas w/fires. :fairymagic: for all to resolve soon.

Had a rough day yesterday. DH is looking for another job & didn't want to drive because he has NO sense of direction. When he went back out on a simple two turn drive, 3.5 miles (approx), from home, got there, then lost on the way home & was almost in downtown LA before he figured it out. :confused2: The real reason I had a bad day yesterday was because while I was bringing DH around we had to eat & safe eating places weren't open until supper. So we ended up at Home Style Buffet. Well, I thought they had improved immensesly since I had only been in one near our home back east more then 10 years ago. I got a salad, fish, veggies & drank sugarfree iced tea. I ate only half of the dessert of peach cobbler, simply because I'm able to stop when I'm full now. Well, I thank God that I didn't get sick until I got home. Very frustrating :hppmad: to not be able to even stay on a good plan w/o getting sick. :hppmad: I guess I'm a little more than frustrated.

Today I'll get my water in. :D

Eat smart. :D

Work on a job. :( Back to the real world. :tink:

LGC,

You can hang with me-These overachiever's here wear me out! How are you liking curves? How sweaty do you get? Do they have showers there or do you have to go home stinky?

I did call and get some info-they charge $74 registration and $29 a month. Does that sound reasonable?

LGC and Esmerelda,

Don't think of me as an overachiever...with all those things I listed, I will be lucky if I accomplish 1/2 of them. I just figure if I set a lot of goals and reach half of them, then I've gotten a few things done.

I just have to tell you all that I was working with one of the boys today who is autistic. He is totally nonverbal...in the 6 weeks I was there the most "verbal" I got from him was a laugh, but no words. Well today I read, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and I asked him what color the strawberries in the story were. The aide said that "red" was the only color he could sign, so I thought I would ask him a question where the obvious answer was red. Well didn't he burst right out and say 'red.' Not once, but twice. The aide, who was cutting things out, just looked at me in disbelief. The boy probably thought I was crazy because I kept telling him to say it again. I was so excited. Then, later in the book, after the caterpillar eats, he said 'big' to describe the bug. The aide said he has never been this verbal in two years!!! I was so excited that I was there to see him say three words. It was the total highlight of my day. And he knew he was doing well, he just kept looking at me and nodding as he was trying to form the words. It just brought tears to my eyes.

So that was the best part of my day! Now, I am off to the grocery store. Let's hope for healthy shopping!!

Hi BABES:

Remember me? Cinderella? Long time no see. Well, you know I was at the BaltiMouse meet this weekend and I can't remember if I got in to post yesterday so here I am.

Doing okay. Have to hit gym tomorrow. Bought more water and keep bottles in both vans and all over house. Now if I would remember to DRINK some that would be a GOOD thing!!!

During the meet in Baltimore I was really good. WE only had a 2 hour drive so I didn't need a lot of snacks in the car. I had one pretzel rod while driving as I was getting hungry and can't let me stomach get empty with the hiatal hernia. Had water in the cooler. We went for lunch with DenDen and had one chicken finger and some water. the place was packed and I didn't feel like eating it. For dinner I just ordered a small caesar salad. I DID have one soft pretzel with horseradish that they put on the table (and it didn't bother my stomach). The salad alone wasn't enough but I didn't like anything on the menu that night. I had some apples later in the room and did have one cappiccino (I never drink coffee!).

So far this week we have been taking the house apart - planting more small flowering plants out front, moving patio furniture outside from basement etc. so we're being physically active.

Alcatraz Island plants are due to arrive this week so that will be our last bg planting for now. Just have to add a few plants on one side of the house and some red twig dogwood bushes out front where our lawn stays wet all the time - drainage is bad. Then I can put in the birdbath and feeder and the bench and the birds will be all set and happy.
:birds: :birds:

Got hooked into writing the chidlren's sermonette for Mother's Day when the Youth groups will run the service. I have to practice with the older guys who will lead the sermonette tomorrow night. Having company for dinner Thursday and will serve steak, big salad, baked potato (we use Benecot to lower cholesterol instead of butter/margarine) and fruit cup for appetizer. I am making a lemon chiffon cheesecake for dessert so that will be the hard part - only eating one slice (sure!!)

HOpe you all keep maintaining your goals. You are all doing a great job.

JennyAnne: Sounds like you had a great day today. I was a special ed aide for about 8 years and loved working with the kids. That was my favorite job. They appreciate all you do for them and I loved getting all the hugs!! Good luck with the new job.

Esmerelda: Great job at the bakery. I couldn't have done it!! What is a stepometer and where did you get it?

Bookwood: Sounds like another busy day for you. Happy Birthday to DS!!!

Cheri: Hang in there girlfriend. It's not easy for most of us. I am sort of hanging on by the skin of my teeth. Just do your best and it gets easier as you go along.

Sheryl: What a great job - 10 miles????? Keep it up and I won't recognize you in June.

Twirlergirl: Enjoy your lazy day!!

Tinkerbell: Sending dust your way for the fires to be put out soon.

Enjoy the rest of the day!!!!!

Behave! Smile! Enjoy being YOU!!

I don't know if I reached him or not!! I'm just so lucky that I was there to see it! I almost feel bad that his teacher was out of the room and that she missed it. She is so wonderful with them!! It was truly such a neat thing to see!

Yep! that sounds like what I paid. I do get very sweaty. Actually, my friend that goes with me, said I smelled sweaty ROFLOL, not stinky, just sweaty. But, you're supposed to sweat, so I wear it with honor!!

I do like it, and I like it even better now that I'm going with a friend. Try it out and see what you think.

Ok, just got home. Terry worked late again tonight, so I took Zach to soccer practice. While he practiced, Nick and I walked and walked and walked. I DID it. I walked a total of 14.70 miles today (took all day, but I did it). I have to say, it felt really good, and Nick was needing to stop, not me.

I'm on a roll now, I can't wait togo walk tomorrow night.

Sorry I could not check in today--y'all were tops on my list of priorities but life is what happens while you are busy making other plans. I was flattened by a migraine. I'm still woozy. The good part of this is you can't overeat if you can't open your eyes...
