hi everyone, i have a costume ? too :)
curious about finding cheap disney costumes...used or new, disney themed, i deally i would like to be tinkerbell, and second choice mary poppins in the white jolly holiday dress, any ideas? short of trying to make them myself? i have been checking ebay...but to no avail. either too much $ or not any i want. i also do garage sales in the summer and will keep my eyes open, and thrift stores, but they dont put out holiday stuff till closer to oct. i know i have time but i am so excited and i dont want to wait till the last minute and not find anything i am really happy with. thanks in advance! missy
ps if i go as tink my boyfriend said he would not wear the green tights (peter pan hee hee) but he would dress up as captain hook, and if i become mary poppins i could find him a white suit at the thrift store and sew red, orange, and yellow ribbon all down the front that would be easy
any suggestions very much appreciated!!!

I would suggest you contintue on with the plan you have, Missy. It should work for you soon. Ebay probably won't stock a lot of costimes this early, but I would think this would be a good time to hit the thrift stores.

You can also try to hit the costume websites for accessories. There are lots of things on sale in the off season.

And as for the white suit for your Bert, I would use colored markers to make the colored stripes, rather than sewing ribbons. That strw hat can be picked up anywhere for a very cheap price, too.

Missy, I agree with ddoll that Ebay may be a good option closer to Fall. There are a lot of costume sites online, but this is one I had bookmarked from when we were trying to find our MNSSHP costumes in 2002. http://www.funfolly.com/ Once you click on "adult" costumes, you can choose "storybook characters" and there are some Disney there including Tinkerbell. The Disney Store catalog always has some great adult costumes too, but they are pricey. I hope you find exactly what you are looking for. :D

www.anniescostumes.com

This website used to have a store in Plantation, FL that was immense with all sort of goodies. Costumes both for rentals/theater productions and purchase. They're pretty reputable, good luck :)
