Yes, I do, I admit it, I have a NEW love! The Wilderness Lodge! Ken and I stayed there this past weekend for my respiratory conference. The lodge is the most beautiful resort. We love'd sitting in the hot tub and looking at the lodge, taking evening walks around the resort, sitting on our porch and looking out at the courtyard, the rabbits, the birds, the squirrels. It was quite romantic. The first day the busses were great, that didn't pan out for the 2nd and 3rd though. :?

My hubby said, "We're just going to have to stop going so often, so that we can stay here all the time. Like only go once per year". I think I've won him over! :winking:

Once per year, always at WL ... Sounds like a VWL resale candidate to me!

Glad you liked it! We just love the WL and VWL!

Once a year hurts (I know, because that's all I get!) But it can be done, and if that's all you have to do in order to stay at WL every trip, I say go for it!

BTW, I think if you like WL you'd also love AKL or Disneyland's Grand Californian, which were designed by the same architect.

Cheri, we also fell in love with the WL when we were there in March. We were staying at the VWL, and the atmosphere over there is also wonderfull! There is your answer, all you have to do is join the DVC! Then you can stay at the VWL, and go more than once a year!

The Wilderness Lodge calls you back, more than any other resort in WDW!! I love all of the resorts, but the WL gets in your blood!! We also had some bus problems there, though - if they could fix that, they would be closing in on perfection!!!

Cheri,

I knew you'd LOVE the WL! It is our favorite, and as much as I am excited to be trying out two new resorts this summer, part of me wants to go back home to the WL. For now, I have the snowglobe (with the WL in it) to look at when I am homesick.

So gald you had a nice time there.

Cheri,

The WL is truly one of our favorites. We've been there twice and we will be there in just a few more short days (doing that single digit dance!) It's been a few years since we have been at WL and I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with it's charms all over again.

Cheri, you are making me wish our Dec trip was here today! I can't wait to see it, smell it , taste it, well you know, eat at the resturants  I would love to take a romantic getaway with my hubby, but I would feel way to guilty going to DW without the kids. Somebody help me get over that Please!!!

No need for guilt. Remember, you were a couple before you were a family. I truly believe that time alone for mommy and daddy helps make for a much happier family. Our kids knew we were going to Disney and they also knew mommy had a class to attend while there. And if you don't want them to know where you are going, you could always say, "Lake buena Vista" we did that a couple of years ago. If you plan a short trip, the guilt seems to be less.

When we told the kids yesterday that we were goingto be trying to go in dec . we told them it was for a special mouse meeting that the kids couldn't go till they were older and could behave.  okok i'm half telling the truth it's my rules not mousefest rules ..lol

Welcome to our "Home". The Wilderness is my little piece of Heaven on earth. Rich brought my snow globe to my bed when I had my surgeries to make me want to get up and go to P.T. May it bring you the joy it does us. Just walking into the lobby brings down my blood pressure. Never feel guilty about getting away as a couple. Without the love of a couple, those kids would not have a happy family. My daughter and hubby are in Ireland as we speak.their first trip alone in 14 yrs. The kids are fine and a calmer mom will come home to them. :sun: I think you can tell by my avatar where my heart lies. LOL........ :mickeyWalk: :mickeyWalk: :mickeyWalk:

I like the Wilderness Lodge very much. It feels like home, but I like the pool so much better at AKL. Rabbits and squirrels are romantic? Hey, I can see those varmints in my yard every day, and I'd not feel sad if they would decide to go live elsewhere!

Is it true that the AKL pool is zero entry??

Sheryl

Yes Lou-Ann, the AKL has the zero entry. The AKL is another gorgeous resort, and it is in itself quite unique. I cannot quite figure out what it is about the Wl that grabs my heart. I'm not really an outdoorsy person, but I canot get enough of the WL.

Aww gee!!! Now I wanna go to the WL!!! :hppmad: :hppmad:

Cheri,

I love WL too. Hey, I love all the DVC resorts. You need to buy DVC. I think you'll be surprised how affordable it is. Look at the resales and compare the amount of money you spend each year to stay on site. Think of it as buying a vacation on the installment plan.

Oh No Esmerelda,

Not ganging up on you..NEVER! As much as I love the WL, I also am interested in trying all the other resorts also. This summer will be two new ones for us POFQ and YC. Then January POLY!!! Now I'd love to fit in a quick trip in August (me, my sister, niece, and Mom) to the GF for a girls weekend (and my neices birthday gift from her favorite Aunt  ), but don't know how I can manage that one yet. So many places to choose, I think I ned to plan some more trips!!

LOL, Sheryl. OK, I feel better now.

I've stayed at all but Pop Century, Coronado Springs and the Grand Floridian. Oh, and Saratoga Springs. I haven't tried a new one in a long time though-once I became a DVC owner I became boring. Hmmmm, I'm a girl, and I haven't tried the GF either. Doesn't the Grand Floridian sleep 5?

I soooooooo need to add that one to my collection! I collect snow globes - what a treasure a WL one would be :D

Belle,

The WL snowglobe is my MOST favortie one so far. The Lodge is in the globe, the bottom is rocks. waterfall, river with a boat with Mickey Donald, Goofy and a BEar riding in it. It also lights up. It is a must buy on your next trip. I LOVE mine.

Esmerelda, If the GF does not fit 5, I'll just leave Mom at home. Actually, my Mom can be a lot of fun, but we have to watch her, she tends to be a little hesitant as far as trouble goes.

Sheryl, but that is the most fun at all-getting a "hesitant" bad girl to join us, lol! Especially when a camera is involved....
