View Full Version : Waterparks questions???

Next week will be the first time I have been to a water park since I was a pre-teen. Back then I had the luxury of a mom who sat on the sidelines, didn't go in the water, sat at our headquarters for the day and watched all of our stuff. (In addition to doling out the cash for ice-cream etc. :D )

My question is what do you do with your stuff when there is no one sitting on a "home base" for the day? I know they have lockers but then what do you do with the key? What about your towels? I plan to bring my own because I like a BIG towel but where do I put it when I am on an attraction? Do you just keep trudging back to the locker every time you need your towel? Do you just leave your stuff unattended and hope for the best?

Proabably silly questions but I really am clueless.

Not silly at all Stinkerbelle. If you get a locker the key is on a band that you can wear on your wrist. I either leave my little bit of money & room key in the locker or I have been known to wear one of those waterproof boxes around my neck. They get in the way at times so I usually end up with most things in the locker. I also like my own big towel so when we get there the first thing we do is find a chair to leave our stuff on. This is our home base for meeting back up of for resting in between rides & such. Usually we only take one because I hate seeing lots of chairs with towels but never any people. If you are going to Blizzard Beach take water shoes as that park gets HOT on your feet.

hi Stinky,

The time dd and I went to Typhoon Lagoon, we brought our big towels with us and just left them at our lounging chair when we went off to the water. I also left my room key and $15 tucked in our canvas bag, under the clothes we'd worn over our suits. It worked out well for us but you'll have to decide what you're comfortable with doing.

Man, you must be psyched about your trip! It's almost here! :sun:

Thanks so much to you both for your quick replies and tips.

Yes, I am VERY excited. I think I am thinking of things to worry about because I have everything else "done" and the days are going by too slowly.

Ooooooh-I wish I was on the lazy river ride at Typhoon Lagoon right now!

I don't take much money with me to the water parks, but I've never had anything stolen. Will you be taking a cooler with you? I think hiding money in a cooler is a good choice-who is going to take the time to open it and look through it?

I have taken only what money I thought we needed and left it in a hard to get to place (toe of shoe under all the clothes under the chair with towel on it ect) and never had a problem. Only time we ever rented a locker (out of at least 4 trips to BB) is the time DD#1 and 2 and I left WDW right from BB to drove home. We wanted to be able to shower and not drive home (straight through 20 hrs) full of chlorine.

We have also just left our money buried under the towels and clothes. Never had a problem at either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon the times that we have been there.

We've also left money, cameras and towels, under our clothes and under our chairs. What I like to do is make a deal with the people around us that we'll watch their stuff if they'll watch ours. Most people appreciate this as they've got the same concern as you.
