In last nights Cruise chat it was mentioned that some might be interested in a Tagrel Group Cruise for 2005. With the special that Tink is running through Your Magical Journey's you could save on a Disney cruise and take it with some of our members.

I threw out the dates of August 28 through Sept 1, 2005 because that is when I booked our family's cruise. And this date just so happens to fall under the dates for the special YMJ is running.

Anyone interested?

I wish we could Sheryl but I'll be back in school then. :( We also spend 2 weeks in August on Cape Cod so another trip so soon would be a little much. I like to spread out my fun!

It's a great idea, I hope you get a group together.

Oh gosh, Sheryl-sounds awesome. We are already back in school then too though. We start the 2nd week in August unfortunately.

Sadly we too will be back in school. Ordinarily I don't mind pulling DS out of school for vacations, but he really does need to be there for that first week.

But I think it's a great idea!

We are doing the 8/29-9/4 this year :D I'll have to see the budget for next year and the weather this year, but either way I think that a tagrel cruise is a wonderful idea 8)

Wow, I wouldn't dare chance a cruise then--it's prime time hurricane season down here. The tropics are very active. I know the rates are down about then, gee wonder why?? We went the first week of Nov. and it was great--if I didn't catch a darn cold. 8) Figgy

Actually, NOvember is still Hurricane season as well. ONe of the strongest Hurricnes was Hurricane Gordon 8-21 November 1994.

Hurricane Season Begins in June and ends in late Novermber. In the past few years we have seen hurricanes as early as April.

In 2000: 4 in August, 4 in Sept and 7 in Oct.

In 2001: there were just as many hurricanes in November as there was in August. 3 each.

2002 we saw more tropical storms than hurricanes.

2003 was 2 in july, 2 in august, 3 in september, october had 3 tropical storms and december saw 2 tropical storms.

Unless you plan on cruising in January to March(and January can be cold in the Bahama's!), you pretty much take a chance. (I will never second guess mother nature)

You can also be sure, if there is a hurricane in the path of the ship, the ship will change course to avoid the bad weather. The captain does not want to put his vessel in danger. We have actually had people complain that they missed a port of call due to a hurricane, they felt they should have gone anyway.

Anytime the kids just return to school is what lowers the rates on DCL. Schools here go back the last week of August (around the 20th) Fl schools go earlier. Parents are not ready to pull kids out yet.

We did a Caribbean cruise when DCL wasn't even a glimmer in anyone's eye. It may have been October. Anyway, there was a hurricane lurking in the vicinity but the ship stayed at least 300 miles away from it. All we got were some extra-cloudy skies! No problem with the seas at all.
