Yeah Missy!

You are going to the first Disney Park - it just happens to be my favorite.

Yes I think two days at each park is a good number -- I would tend to do three days at DL and one at CA - the park hoppers let you go back and forth so you can do a little park hopping. And the parks are just a few steps away from each other so it is really easy to do.

I like Mouseplanet.com for Disneyland info. The Dis board also have a nice board on Disneyland. And of course you can ask here :D

Staying on site is Disneyland is not as big a deal as WDW. There are several very nice hotels/motels very close to DL. It depends on what kind of accomadations you are looking for. You may want to contact yourmagicaljourneys for packages. They have always done a great job for us.

And what to do in each park -- remind me who all is going and ages, interests and such. I will say catch Fantasmic, Believe the fireworks show, and the rides that are only at DL or are different from the one's at WDW. The list for me is - PoC, Splash Mtn, Small World, HM, the train all the way around -- the onlys are Alice in Wonderland, Mr Toad, Casey's Circus train, Story book canal boats, Matterhorn, Roger Rabbit's Spin, and I think I am forgetting some!

Eat at Blue Bayou -you need PS.

Alright I better stop - Have a great time planning, ask your questions and here is a link to a recent DL chat Disneyland chat (http://tagrel.com/chatLogs/DisneyChat04-14-04.html)

I agree with what BetsyAnn said. YOu know Small world will blow you away as will Pirates when you see how much better they are at Disneyland. Disneyworld makes them look so much like warehouses compared to what you will see in Disneyland.

You will see a lot of similar attractions between the two parks. I personally think everything is worth seeing once.

SOme of my favorites in Disneyland park: Storybook canals (I know a kiddie ride but I love minatures and they have some of the best miniture garndes Ive ever seen in my life), Great Moments with Mr Lincoln (ITs tucked in the front of the park on Main street.), Splash MOuntian (Althought I like FLorida a bit better on this ride) Thunder Mountian if its going again. I htink Disneyland was better than Disneyworld but after the Accident who knows?, Fantasmic is oodles better at Disneyland but no benches to sit in so get there early and steak out some ground to sit on, Also the fireworks is about the best ut you cant see it everywhere because the trees are so big in Disneyland so try to spend some time steaking out a place in front of the castle one night if possible. Also check out toon town. It puts FLoridas toon town to shame for sure. We like to just walk through the area and take pictures.

My favorites in California Adventure: Next to Epcot thi is perhaps my most favorite park and now they added a tower of terror its really going ot be great. My favorites are the ROller coaster (IVe ridden it more than 20 times), the maliboomer (A ride opposite of Tower it shoots you up instead of dropping you), Then the Soarin over California and I love the show GOlden Dreams. I have watched it about 10 times and I still get choked up when they play the song at the end, I also love the animations studio especially the section titled sourcers workshop. YOu can do things like take a quiz to see what character you are or pretend you are the voice in a cartoon. (PLan to go here early because later the lines are too long to wait), Then dont forget to catch what ever they show in the Hyperthian Theater. Its lately been Aladin show, (KInd of a beauty and the Beast Type production form MGM) I have seen the Power of Blast and another show called Steps in time there before. Its a grand theater and wonderful for big productions.

Im sure you will have lots of other questions

Missy,
We are going the next 2 nights, if you want to see some current maps let me know and I can send them to you.

And my favorite ride that they don't have at WDW is Indy. Similar in Dinosaur in design but way better!!!!

And also when you are there in October the HM will have been made over with it's Nightmare Before Christmas theme - which is worth the trip all by itself.
