We may have to change our plans from going this Dec to going the first of Oct. If we do this I plan on renting at BCV. I need to make any request at the time of booking. So does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should ask for. I'm not even sure what I can ask for. Non smoking? So does anyone have a certain room # they would like to share. Or are all the rooms good. I'm not even sure yet if we are getting a studio or 1 bedroom. I of course want the 1 bedroom but the checkbook might say NO!!!! Any help would be appreciated :D I only have a few days to decide. Thanks

Hi Tonya! Some of the typical things that can be requested at BCV:
Non-smoking
Near Elevator
Upper Floor (or choice of floors)
Quiet Pool View (Very nice)
Epcot View (very limited but nice too!)
Non-handicapped (these rooms have no tubs, and loose a closet to provide extra space in the studio bathrooms)
I'm sure there are others, but these are all that come to mind right now. List them in the ORDER OF PREFERENCE - highest priorty first. They may only look at the top 2 or 3... They will do their best to fulfull your requests, but there are no guarantees. Also - Oct is Food and Wine Festival time and VERY popular with DVC members. Could be difficult to get a reservation so don't delay! I would NOT go with requesting any specific room. You'll have a much better chance if you make requests of room types.
HTH - let us know how the renting goes! :)

Hi, Tonya! We rented at BCV last May, and had what I considered a great studio room. We requested non-smoking, near the elevator, and pool view. Our room was just 3 or 4 doors down from the elevator and had a very nice pool view.
I think pool view is a pretty safe bet. There are some rooms that you can see Epcot from, but you also may be dealing with road noise from what I've heard about those rooms. BCV's are super nice. You really can't go wrong. :D
Let us know if you end up going in October instead. Our family will be right across the lake at BWV from Oct. 3-13. :D

I think the primo view at BCV is upper floor facing Epcot so you can see the Illuminations fireworks. It's not the same as being in the park and you really can't see the laser stuff but it's still pretty cool. No guarantees, of course, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Pool view is nice too, and it is quiet.
As to the near the elevator question, I guess that's a matter of personal preference or convenience vs. quiet.
You should be warned that BCV is a very long building and the walk from the far end back to the lobby area is a bit of a jaunt. Last trip we had a room that was further from the lobby in terms of the indoor corridors but was right near one of the quiet pool exits. So if you just popped outside and cut across the courtyard it wasn't bad at all. In fact, it was actually a much quicker walk to the lobby than our room from the prior trip which technically was "closer" to the lobby. If you look at a resort map (try allearsnet.com) you'll see what I mean.

Thanks you guys for all the advice. Now if my husband will hurry up and get home so I can discuss this with him!!!
Alicia...We will be there Oct 1st -8th. If husband goes along with this idea. Although we are just an hour apart from each other now :D
I'm sure I will have other questions but I know where to come.

Tonya, I didn't realize you were that close to the state line. We just may have to get together outside of WDW sometime. :D I hope everything works out with your trip planning.

I guess I should post again and say"Our plans have not changed". DH said he wanted to stick with our original plans of going Nov.27th- Dec 4th. I am shocked  that he even cares when we go. But glad that he is interested. Deep down I wanted to go during the holiday season but thought it would be easier if we went when my DD was on fall break. Thank you all for your time in answering my questions. I will file them away for future reference.
That will be a great time to go Tonya? The Christmas decorations will be up, and the Osborne lights will be back this year! Have a great trip!
