Hi. I registered a long time ago but don't know if I ever posted. I live in Delaware County, PA (Philadelphia suburbs). I am 41 years young. I have a 18 year old dd and a 16 year old ds (who doesn't like WDW) Our last trip to WDW was June 2002 and we stayed at the Beach Club. Both my son and daughter announced on this trip that they had enough of WDW for a long time. I might add it rained the entire week we were there which didn't help. Two weeks ago both dd and ds were at WDW with their school choir. Pam (dd) called me and was complaining how they didn't have any time to see or do anything and it was so crowded. She then asked "Mom, before I start college in August, can just you and I spend a week together at WDW?" I can't begin to tell you how excited I am! My dh also has no desire to go to WDW so dd (#5 in her senior class), sorry I'm bragging and me (very proud, happy mom) will be spending a week together at the Wilderness Lodge. We have never stayed here and I'm very excited. Thanks for letting me share. I've missed you guys!

Welcome Phillypooh! :bounce: So glad that you have joined us, and its GREAT that you have a trip planned with your DD!! My kids are still small and love WDW... Hoping that they don't get sick of it as they grow older, but you never know! So I'm enjoying it while I can! :) Happy Planning, and you will love the WL - its a GREAT place to stay!

Welcome PhillyPooh:

You've found a great place to talk about DisneyWorld and ask questions and get answers and find new friends. We are all Disneyholics here and we're a friendly bunch.

I'm from PA also - just moved 1 1/2 years ago from NY. We are near Chambersburg (15 miles west of Gettysburg). Maybe we'll see you at one of our PA mini-meets.

Congratulations on your DD's rank in her class and congratulations that you get to go back again. My children were young for their first visit to DW (it was only Magic Kingdom then!). My daughter was 4 her first tiime and she was 7 and DS was 4 for his first visit. Then they didn't go back for years and I took DS alone when he was almost 13. He wasn't too excited but after we went he LOVED it - especially Epcot which I didn't think he would appreciate.

Now my DH and I have started going back alone since we were married (10 years) and spent our honeymoon there. He is not a TOTAL Disneyholic like I am but he's coming around.

Hope you'll post often and that we can be of help to you.

Welcome Phillypooh!!

A mother/daughter trip sounds like just the thing. Congratulations to you DD on her outstanding HS achievement. This from a mom of 2 in college (one will graduate in May with a degree in Chemistry other is a sophmore majoring in JOurnalism and web design) now with one a Freshman in HS (top 25 of her class- thank-you very much) who will get her Driving Permit today (I'll probably never sit in the drivers seat of my own car again  ) Our oldest and youngest daughters are heading in your direction to work at a Lutheran Church Camp this summer (with a week off to meet 13 other family members in WDW) They will be in Arendtsville (near Cinderella) PA.

HOpe to see you around- (us proud moms gotta stick together)

Whh Hoo and welcome to you.

My first trip was when I realized my oldest was going to be a senoir in high school and we havnet had a family trip together. That was back in 1998. I have been back a couple more times (PLus a couple trips to Disneyland) with out our kids. I cant wait because in August I get to take both my daughters (Ages 20 and 23) my SOn in law and my 2 grand kids with me.

Maybe we will cross paths in August? We are going Aug 7 to the 14th but the first two days are Sea World and travel day for us. We check in at Shades of Green August 9th (WHich is my 25th wedding anniversary)

Anyway So glad you introduced yourself and told us about the upcoming trip. Im know you and your kids will have a great time. And Wilderness lodge, lucky you!!

Welcome PhillyPooh & congrats to your daughter. I remember reading your trip report to the Beach Club, it was on MousePlanet maybe? Glad you and your daughter are having another go at it. Hopefully it will not rain the entire trip. Have fun.
