Cruise line related but not sure if it belongs her or not. Maybe Figgy has an answer????

Here I am, driving home (I live 2 HOURS south of WDW and maybe 1 hr and 30 mins south of Port Canaveral where the cruise ships depart from) and I get stopped at an intersection. What crosses my path but 3 empty Disney Cruise Line busses heading into Port Salerno. :shock: No deep water there!! Why would there even be DCL busses down this way???????

Diane, the busses were crossing US1 on Cove Road going east toward A1A. Very strange!!!!!

Den, that is what's so puzzling about this--I used to live in Port Salerno until this time last year--the place is pretty dumpy. The only thing I can think of is that there are a few upper-end retirement communities down where they were heading so maybe they had chartered a cruise--but 3 busses worth?? That's alot of people! I didn't know Disney would come and pick you up!

B/c they are actually Mears buses that are/were contracted by DCL. I've heard rumors that DCL has discontinued the contract with Mears so maybe they are now using the buses for other stuff??

As DisneyPam pointed out, they are actually owned by Mears. I've heard from my limo guy that sometimes Mears uses them for other jobs.
