I am the world's worst about just opening a bill and writing out the check. But, here is an example as to why you should examine them very carefully:

Two months ago, I upgraded my hubby and my cellphone as well as upgrade the plan. Now, because we were still under contract, they were going to charge us. Even though we were UPgrading, (anyway to make a buck for companies  ). Anyway, I negoitated a ONE time $18 fee per contract instead of $50 per contract.

The bill came last month with the charges, I paid it. The bill came this month, and I was charged AGAIN! I called Cingular and got it straightened out. So I saved $37.90 once they adjusted the bill and the taxes.

Thank goodness I looked at the bill carefully. There are no telling how many people let that slip by and Cingular is making a fortune off of it. :hppmad:

$37.90 more for Disney!!!! :minnie:

I agree Cheri, and another one is to double check medical bills.

My Gram (86) just had some minor surgery. She is getting hit with all these bills. Now she used to just pay them as she got them, but my father has taken over doing this for her. As it turns out her insurance will cover them, but she was worried sick she owed that much herself. Thank goodness she did not pay them.

I agree with the medical bills especially.........I remember my dad getting a bill when the ambulance came to his home. They billed him for rubber gloves. I can still hear my 85 yr old mother telling them off and saying "There were no gloves. I have been an R.N. for 65 yrs and think I know a rubber glove when I see one, missy". The gloves were removed from the bill. LOL.
