We have PS for O'Hana's in a few weeks. My daughter is somewhat finicky (okay--very finicky) and she's not thrilled we are eating here again. I really enjoyed O'Hana's and since it's Mother's Day weekend--Mom picks the restaurant!

I know I have read about younger children being able to get chicken fingers and such but they are charged the kid's meal price. Does anyone know if that works with a teenager who is not willing to try something new and different? I'd hate to think I paid twenty-something dollars for a burger and fries but if she eats it versus eating nothing at all, what's a Mom suppose to do? Kid's--they just don't know what's good for them!

Sorry Tink23...but if you are a teenager you are old enough to suck it up and find something to eat at 'Ohana - shrimp or beef or turkey. What about the salad or the fried rice from the starter plate? If you were 2 or 3 I'd be more sympathetic, but since you are old enough to deal with it and it is MOTHER'S DAY weekend, my opinion is that you make the best of it. I have a feeling that except for this particular meal, you'll be getting your fill of the "classic" Theme Park foods.

When we went to Garden Grill in 1998 my then teens were really finicky and didnt like any of the adult food. Its a buffet they bring to your table. ANyway they brought a kids pan of food (THey served the food in cast iron fry pans. ) we did have ot pay "Adult " prices for chicken fingers but at least they got to eat right. we also got grat Character interaction.

Time to expand your horizons, I remember (like it was yesteday) when I wouldn't try new foods. Sure and glad that I decided to try . Would have missed lots of really good things. You might find some really good things !

hi disneyfanatic/Tink23,

Since I've read of adults (over 40!) being able to order chicken fingers just about anywhere, seems to me there's no harm in your asking. What's the worst that could happen if they say no way? Just have a backup choice ready.

And while I'm all for expanding your culinary horizons, I think it's more important that you're relaxed and having fun. Happy countdown to your trip!

Tink23 I had to laugh when I read your post, my son (15) always cathches me if I post anything about him. I am sure you can get chicken fingers if you don't like the food but maybe you should give it another try. My son was so very picky a few years ago that one trip he only ate Hot Dogs. He shocked me on our trip in December when he tried Lamb at Restaurant Marrakesh & loved it. I say go for the chicken fingers though if you must, better to have a good meal with your Mom than to eat something you are not happy with.

Perhaps you could call dining services and explain the situation. I doubt they will sell a child's meal to an adult, but maybe they would let you order an adult sized item from the room service menu? Just a thought.
